So, I had been saving cbills for a rainy day, and 12m seems like a milestone since I can buy any non-hero mech with that amount. I just don't know what to try.

In my hangar already:

Com 2D (mastered): for hunting lights
Jr7-F (Mastered): 6ML for popping assault rear CTs and other mischief
Jaeger -S and Firebrand (elite): quad ac2 for mid range devastation and ac40 for the usual fun
Atlas DC and RS (elite): DC is a brawler and RS is more of an all-rounder with lrms. Don't use them much since the patch

So what do I get to try something new? A medium seems the obvious choice, and I'm toying with the idea of a treb or centurion. It's just that they're the mechs I tend to kill the most, so I'm not sure how I feel investing in one. I've had a cicada and catapult in the past and sold both (chose the wrong variants in both cases).

I like to get stuck in, and poptarting, lrm spamming, or sniping is not my bag at all.

What do you guys recommend? Or do I just buy two modules (have seismic and target retention, have unlocked 360 retention as well, but not bought it)? Or keep saving until Battlemaster?

Mediums are in a bad spot right now.

That being said, ive had a TON of fun with the 1X blackjack. 8 mlas and moving over 100kph is a blast. Just dont forget your coolshot lol.

Centies are pretty good, but i just think that any medium that isnt boating lasers and streaks, or a combination of them, just isnt that useful. Once SRMs are good again hopefully we will see a resurgence of mediums.

Cataphracts are a great investment as well, and will remain a competitive mech for a very very long time.

Catapults as well. The two I would recommend, which will be viable regardless of meta changes, are the C1 and the K2. The others wont be of much use until SRMs are in a better place.

Thanks guys. So no votes for a stalker or HGN et al? I have to admit I've been tempted by the idea of putting quad ac2 on a phract!

You will have the cash for the new mechs by the time they are released..many months from now.

I would suggest the spiders (the 5D is a dream..the K sorta sucks in effectiveness but its fun..the 5V just sucks period) and the blackjacks for sheer speedy loony fun.

Well you said you didn't like LRM or Sniping ...the stalker is a very poor brawler and the highlander really shines best in medium to long range sniping roles. The cataphract is not my fave mech..its just too easy to pop with those wide shoulders.

I like the Cataphract 3D and it is one of my favorite. Mediums despite popular belief can be very successful if you take the time to learn the right tactics.

My absolutely favorite is the Quickdraws but most don't share that love. QDs to me offer the perfect combination of speed, agility, armor and firepower and are very fun and exciting to play. Takes skill to play them though and they have a pretty steep learning curve which is why I think they don't have a huge following. Most people want EZ-mode you see.

buy 2 seismic sensors, they are 6mil each. easiest way to spend 12mil cbills.

12 mil ? Get a Cataphract 3-D. Then upgrade and build something. Easily over 12m
