This has been out for a few years now, some modern FPS games support it, and was wondering if anything might be in the works for this with MWO. Coupled with the Artemis controller and the Mech Pods people will inevitably make this could make for extreme immersion.

http://tngames.com/products closest link I can supply to the vest.

Man, if someone walked in on me wearing that thing, I'd die of shame.

Piloting a 'Mech is nothing like playing CoD so in all honesty I wouldn't bother with a silly vest get your-self a decent Joy stick/Hotas set-up!

Edit: As said above you would look gay in that thing ^_^

Lol, aesthetics aside, it wouldn't be too bad. And yes, playing MWO will be much different than CoD, as it should be. But to actually feel the vibrations and such would be kinda fun.

Wow, I forgot someone made that thing. I know I love wearing an undersized vest that punches the **** out of me when I'm trying to game.

Ha, the best example of overly expensive and utterly useless piece of gamingequipment ever...
Srsly, all that thing's doing in a MP-game, is putting you at a disadvantage against players who don't use it.
Why would you want that? Hell, why would you want to pay for that? especially about 140 bucks...

Right up there with the real early 3D gamer glasses that were basically mini LCD displays in a bulky glasses frame. Cost a fortune, gave you a headache, and only worked if you had a really good graphics card. Someone out there thinks its a good way to make money off of gamers, believing us all to be sheep with credit cards.

If I remember rightly the command chair in a mech was supposed to have a damage indication function when being attacked from behind (im sure I read it i n one of the Wolves books recently). If so this vest could be a great addition to have.

Yea, that looks like a pretty dumb idea. Nothing says losing focus like 30 punches to the chest and back well getting hit by bullets in the game.

I think the "Buttkicker" would be more mech sim. It's cheaper too. ^_^

i... i dont know what to think about this sort of thing.

On one hand, its horribly rediculous.
On the other hand, if not for things like this, we will never get to what the 80s and 90s told us virtual reality was supposed to be.

Buy 3 of those.
One for your butt, one for your chest and the last one for back. With a force peak of 30 lbs. per ft. its the ultimate chest-puncher.

If you want to stay alive, buy only one for your butt. :P

Edit: Typos

Tbqh the best thing to do to get proper immersion in the Battletech universe is to crank the house thermostat to max and wear a silly helmet.
