Some folk here at the forums talking like people invited to Beta at the moment will have everything free compared to those who bought founder's pack with actual money and to be honest Im sort of confused cause all of this fuss.

Does Beta testers at the moment have to buy Founder's pack to get all those shiny nice mechs and extra C-Bills ? or do they granted with them already ?

Another rumor says all stats will be wipe clean after 17th july but founder's pack purchaser's items will be added after that so they gonna keep them.Acording to this current Betas wont hold anything more or less and they have to buy founder's pack as well to obtain same advantages. If so why people keep whining about it then?

Can someone from PGI make simple one sentence explanation to this ?

To my understanding, Beta's will have to purchase their own "Founder's Pack" and they will be available at the same time as the non-beta's.

youll just believe anything wont you. closed beta is recieveing a final wipe on the 17th of july, this is not rumor, this is pgi stated fact, go read the inception blog. while closed beta testing may be testing inception items, you have to buy inception to have them once the game is live after the 17th of july, again this is fact from the inception blog.

stop believing everything trolls tell you and read the dev blogs. kthxbai

I do not think they get anything for free, other than playing the game before everyone else. Which would be enough for me :)

people are whining because they think it improves their chance at being invited to a beta.

Fact is, beta invites are random.

People for some reason or another feel a sense of entitlement to a closed beta test as though it is some god given right to them. Though adding to this is possibly the short and colourful period of time people have been glued to these forums waiting and praying for the game.

I for one fail to understand their impatience? unless they hope to get a head start on playing the game which won't last long after release as skill levels will normalise. And their stats/etc will be wiped after 17th July so there is no real benefit other than playing a game you can't even talk about to the majority of players.

I can confirm that there is no intersection between "purchased a founder pack" and "closed beta tester"

additionally there is strong evidence that "vouching to purchase" a founders pack actually diminishes your chances of getting into closed beta. This is a controversial and embattled view, but supported by the relentless attempts to block or diminish the obvious facts by "the man" (PGI staff and associates). Clearly no one who has purported financial support for MWO has received beta consideration and posted contrary.

I personally don't care if it increases my chances of getting the beta. I was raised on mechwarrior 2 and 3. Now that I run into a Mechwarrior MMO I'm definitely wanting to support it.

Albeit I definitely would like to get into the closed beta but what MW fan wouldn't ;)

My question is how much is the founders pack going to cost.

I know for a fact this is incorrect. I cannot publish said facts, but the fact remains that those in beta cannot say they are in the beta. That leaves a huge hole in the "data" collected for this theory.

EDIT: For clarification, I'm talking about the second part. I agree that there is no intersection between the two.

I fail to see how he was being an ***, also if you read the inception article you would see its not available yet.

I cannot think of any Video Game MMORPG Beta that has ever allowed Beta Testers to carry things from Beta to release. It would be very problematic and all developers know it. You also have to be able to test all aspects of the game in Beta testing which means giving loads of C-Bills away etc... Better to find something broken in Beta than release.

So... like everyone else said: read the info on the beta test and use your common sense. You are worrying over nothing.

also some people dont understand the difference beta and "early access/head start".

so even though those people dont like to read i'll explain anyway.

beta is testing and beta progress gets wiped. early acess happens after beta and is usualy a few days maybe up to a week before release and progress is not wiped. so founder packs even not counting the extra money other stuff is usually very much worth getting.

Beta testers get to do just that. Test a work-in-progress game.
Once the live version is introduced (17th July if everything is on target) the servers start fresh and everyone who has purchased the founder's pack gets EARLY ACCESS.

BETA INVITATION != EARLY ACCESS

Beta access is testing the incomplete game. Early access is early access to the completed(ish) game.

Please, please, PLEASE let the posts wanting to buy the founder's packs now so they can play beta DIE!
