We children of the Annihilator have spoken, and now our blessed hymn I have written for this mech alone. Sing it along with the tune of House of the Rising Sun.

"Mechbay of the Annihilator"

There is, a mech, in BattleTech.
They called, the Annihilator.
And it’s been, the ruin, of many poor Mechwarriors.
And God, I know, I’m one.

Well it all began in Mechwarrior 3.
You had to fight it, in a tunnel.
It was there, those AC’s would cut you down.
And you had to restart, the level.

Now the only thing left for you to do.
Is to look it up on Sarna.
It is right now, that you have realised.
It can mount, 4, Gauss Rifles (IS Tech)

O Brothers, tell PGI.
To release, this mech, at once.
Cause I really want to run this beauty.
With dear Kiiyor’s, mockup.

To the kids who think the Muromets is OP.
You have no idea what you’re sayin’
And the one’s whining about ECM
This thing just mounts guns and lasers.

Would be neat, t hough to be honest, I think it always looked a bit ugly with its strange cockpit/head section. Still, it has its appeal.

But they won't give it to us, because it would just break their game. Triple Gauss? Quad AC/10? Dual AC/20? Even the hardpoint restriction fanbois can't solve this riddle. (Some will just say it's okay, because it is meant to be a boat.)

Screw that. The only thing I will cram in that will be dakka. Obscene amounts of dakka. 4UAC5s and two AC2s. 6 AC5s. I want to keep ammunition companies in business with my mech alone. I shall dub my mech Dakka-geddon, and it will feel like the title is lacking! Seismic will be rendered useless over ENTIRE BATTLEFIELDS for HOURS after I fire!

Michael Bay will be forced to retire in SHAME after a mere 5 seconds of exposure to my Mech and it's GLORIOUS SYMPHONY OF DAKKA spoils the plotlines of EVERY MOVIE HE WILL MAKE FOR THE NEXT 40 YEARS.

Hardpoint restriction fanboi solution in ...Three...Two...One...

In addition to hardpoint restrictions we already have in place a chassis quirks system and engine size limits.
These two already existing features can be applied to "boat" chassis as a means of reducing the impact of mechs like the Annihilator.

Annihiltators have a 200 standard engine and as an Assault mech may have up to 20% higher engine rating meaning a 30kph Annihilator can if desired replace it's 200 engine with a 240 and possibly hit speeds as high as 38KPH wow,take the top down that's insane...

Also if for example the Annihilator had 30 degree torso rotation and of course lacking lower arm actuators Annihilators lack lateral arm movements.If the torso pitch was also limited Annihilators can be defeated by simply standing on higher ground and shooting at their ponderously slow chassis.

But if you happen to end up right in front of one it's probably gonna really really hurt.

Besides Annihilators are probably among the rarest of the rare of mechs only being deployed by Wolf's Dragoons Zeta Battalion.

Zeta Battalion lost the bulk of it's forces in 3039 battling House Kurita elite units.
Even the Dragoon only have a handful and the remaining 2 or 3 not in Dragoon hands were likely salvaged by Combine mechwarriors who probably regret it due to not having any source for spare parts since Annihilators are not in production anywhere....I am also a Battletech fanboi

I am not sure I care about speed, because 45 to 60 damage heat-less or low-heat alpha strikes! I'll just stand here on the base, you shall not pass.

That could perhaps work, but what do I then do with the Annihilator? It's not like this advantage only hurts boats, it would hurt a mixed loadout just as much. Is that the best solution we have?

Well, not the best I have, but probably the best I can expect from MW:O.

This little fellow here has 2 Machine Guns, and you can upgrade that to 4 with our "Hard-Points-Are-For-Wussies-Special". Imagine it standing at the entrance to your base, and a complete infantry platoon in front of it, the pilot shouting:" You shall not pass".
