Just a thought but It might be nice to increase or decrease base speed depending on how many tons of armor mounted. It does not have to be much but a risk reward system for certain types of loadouts would make the customization process alot more interesting.

I dont think thats a good Idea, you would have to base the speed on the actual weight of the Mech, not only the armor-weight. And even than... you shoot away the side torsi of an Atlas, the 360XL Engine would make the rest 35 tons run... 200 miles an hour or so? Just too easy to exploit!

Personally with so many ppc builds I thought this might work if lets say the actual weight of heavier weapons would force less armor making more glass canon type mechs. They might retain there power but would be more easy to take down if not piloted correctly.

It would be cool to see a small speed bump when large mech parts go boom. The legs/gyro designs can be used as a limiting factor for max speed, so there would be no danger of a 200kph Atlas or anything like that.

If an Atlas with a 360XL Engine loses either or both side-torso sections, it won't be going anywhere... B)
