Like the Battlemaster thread in the Assault sub-forum, lets get to theorycrafting what we'll do with the Thunderbolt once it hits the game! It is probably my favourite Mech in the package, aesthetic-wise.

I'm thinking a balanced build based around a Gauss and LRM's.

2 AC5, LL, 3ML, 2SSRM, XL300

It really depends on what the state of the game is like when it comes time for us to get our hands on these. I can see myself going with something like 2aSRM6, erppc, 3MLAS, 2 machineguns. And stuff the rest full of DHS with a std270 engine.

I probably wouldn't do a sniper build on this, because a, I don't really like sniping, and b, optimal configuration puts all your fire power pretty much on one side. (aka wanting to group the ppcs(torso), and having a gauss.)

I am staying true to the stock T-Bolt with a few changes. This is my favorite mech from TT; really looking forward to some cockpit time.

If SRMs get nerfed again, this will change. Now if only PGI will let me uproot a tree and go Louisville Slugger with my T-Bolt...

I am going to wreck face with mine.

oh you mean loadout. havent planned it yet, though I am sure it will be mid-weight AC and ML and I will try LRM first, but if I find it lackluster I will put SRM in there for more face-punch powah.

shoot people with it ..

Try keep a sensible build thats close to the 'real' mechs and as far away from cheese as possible, one of the reasons I like the victor in game almost as much as I like the TT version. it stay competitive without being cheese

I'm looking forward to the T-bolt (and Shadow Hawk) ...

I GumbyC2C's stock build ... I might run this as well.
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...a136daed628d3fe

A little range and a little close-up. I don't like having Heavy and Assaults that are all one way or the other.

Like a few others, the Thunderbolt's my favorite heavy 'Mech.

I'll just optimize the traditional loadout and work with five fire groups.

I'll first be trying this, though I fear it will run a bit too hot. In the case it does I have an alternate, which also runs a little faster and reaches farther.

Let me just say that I am ******* stoked for the thunderbolt. I grew up a 75 ton fan, MWO has given me a new appreciation for 65 ton mechs. I find they are way more flexable in squeezing out a bit more speed while still maintaining the "heavy" role in terms of arms and armor.

I am expecting the Thunderbolt to be not so great with an XL... I'm kinda happy to get a standard engine brawler going so I am going to start with this: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...1e951769ec3f5fa

If XLs turn out to be ok for them I will be really pleased. As a lefty, I have really been wanting a mech with a left arm ballistic set-up. Mech designers seem to have this right sided bias in ballistic placement. I will start with this: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...9e030dd3ef8cd57 and adjust as I go.

sorry to say it but the victor is becoming the biggest cheese out there right now, even taking over the highlander's spotlight

What will I do?

I will hook a debugger up to MWO. I will launch the heavy metal and capture the event trigger for the music on kill event.

I'll then write a shim that allows me to play the same music when I kill **** with my TB. I will scream "HELL YEAAHHH!!!" via macro at the same time.

Here's what I came up with so far. Good speed and armour, with a nice mix of short and long range weapons. Might be a smidgeon on the hot side, but I'll have to try this out.
