So If Solo Queue Is Not The Answer

And if 'lobbies' are the answer, as frequently mentioned in another thread*, it would be nice to somehow flag players to not be matched against in the future.

Someone team kills you, flag ‘em. Someone sync drop pug stomps you, flag ‘em. Someone runs all PPC's or other fotm, flag ‘em. Someone captures without even trying, talks to much smack, whatever, flag ‘em. No additional queues, just less of what you personally deem offensive or ruins your fun.

Of course we don't want to add additional time to how MM works, and maybe this would do the trick with the only wait time increasing is your own. If your wait times start getting too long, maybe it is time to remove some of the flags.

Thats the only problem I see with proponents of a lobby system. (the ones who say it will solve all the solo pubbers problems)
They don't explain how exactly, other than you can organize the match.

It wont help them much at all.

It will help the grouped players join matches together. (2-3-4mans joining an open lobby etc)
It will help corps / clans schedule training matches / comp matches etc.


Any solo pubber starting a lobby match and expecting to only get solo players in his lobby (and around his skill level) are sorely mistaken.

There would be troll groups coming into those lobbys non grouped but on TS etc. If you know them by name (and then flag them per your suggestion), they will make smurf accounts and do the same thing.

Look at pretty much any RTS game with a lobby. Newbies start a game, "NOOBS ONLY", then 3 or 4 experienced players join to troll them.
Or the other way around. Experienced players start a game "NOOBS ONLY", and yeah......you see where I am going with this..

Lobbys will only help solo pubbers by taking more groups OUT of the instant queue....meaning hopefully they only face mainly other pubbers in that queue.

However I doubt that will even happen as groups using the lobby will probably be facing other groups, much like what throwing the groups into their own seperate queue would do anyway, so they will trickle back to the non-lobby game. (the ones who want the advantage that is, the others will prefer the lobby 100% and never go back imo ;) )

Thats not to say I don't want a lobby system, its great for groups / corps and organizing events etc. Just its no holy grail for solo pubbers.
