I am going to move this form the New Player Help section to the Barracks for now, as this looks like a mix of combat vids and chatting about combat experiences.... however I cannot guarantee whether or not it will be moved from there to Fan Audio/Video. i think this is about sharing combat experiences, but a thread dedicated to posting videos might be moved to Fan AV if Support deems it so.
It started as a thread to let new players know they can test builds and hero mechs without actually committing to the cash they spend with the public test server.
How did I just notice this thread? I'm brand new to youtube but here is one of my videos from the first round of testing last week and some of my thoughts on how it will affect the current meta
Koniving uploads videos like crazy, everyone should check his channel out!

Thank you. Btw, the thread used to be in new player help so that may be why you haven't seen it before. It got moved here because it stopped being about "Want to try something without actually spending your money on it? Jump on the 12 vs 12 server." and more about "Here's what it looked like if you missed it."
Also I noticed since we talked your views are like --whoosh! That's good. I think I need to take the advice I gave, too, and post more about strategy and tactics. My game balance ideas seemed to soar -- like the autocannon variant concept and demonstrating the Chemjet Gun and Crusher Super Heavy Autocannon AC/20s. I had an idea of how to demonstrate laser variants, but it'd be impossible to demonstrate the damage as to even show off the ideas would require a lot of video editing.

That aside, a lot of people view that with 12 vs 12 gameplay, ammo weapons will suffer a bit. We will need to use them more conservatively and when it genuinely counts as a fast way to hit things. An example is here (time skipped - it's during a vid where I demonstrated a new heat spike in AC/2s that only occur during chain and macro fire; my ammo count had dropped to below 1 ton and in a Hunchback 4G with an XL engine and only 2 small lasers every shot of that AC/2 is made to count. Triumphant victory.)
To have the same feeling try a stock mech -- ammo is always limited to 1 or 2 tons per AC, SRM or LRM and it becomes less about high powered weapons and more about endurance. This third person video of me by Lordred (so it's not my vid; though I usually am the subject of his vids) has me using AC/5, AC/2, SRM-6, LRM-10, and 4 medium lasers in an Atlas with only basic efficiencies with 1 ton of ammo per weapon. In the end I have 6 kills and 400 to 500 damage in an 8 vs 8.
Please do check out his vids, though he doesn't record his own voice, Lordred is the holder of the Perfect Screenshot Thread and without SweetFX, his game looks incredibly amazing compared to standard due to driver tweaks and excellent hardware. His latest one, the unlisted Whisper Warrior, is hilarious.
At one point every enemy mech alive is hammering me from every side and it genuinely looks and feels as MWO did during closed beta in terms of the genuine threat an Atlas presented on closed beta battlefield -- even if the player using it drowned in debt on losses. (Most didn't realize this, but a commando 2-D pre ECM days with 3 LRM launchers, doing spotting and firing missiles, made me as much as 3,000,000 cbills in a single match and only had a repair and rearm cost of less than 20,000. Be the first out behind enemy lines. Spot enemy. Fire missiles, get 2,500 cbills. Teammates fire LRMs, get 2,500 cbills per teammate, per 5 second space of time. Regardless of hits.)
Anyway, that said, unfortunately the use of PPCs are going to get much more prevalent.
Spoiler
Especially since you can generate over 98 heat according to Paul's penalty explanation for 5 PPCs and my test rig not only stayed online but only reached 87%. Since it's supposed to be a 30 threshold, and 3 ER PPCs fired at the same time are supposed to be instant death (15 + 15 = 30 = shutdown + 15 = 45 = 150% threshold = explode), is balance any surprise?
While camping may become an issue, I also predict some other things. With 3 lances you could in theory begin using more tactics than you could before. For example 6 on the move to attack and 6 to defend. 4 and 4 in separate directions to locate the enemy and pinch them in from the sides and rear while another 4 come to flush through them. 2 at base, 10 in the field. The list goes on.
