So, yeah, looks like this thing is gone, now, or at least it's no longer being shown on their website. Anyone hear anything?

This game has terrible joystick support, they probably canceled it.
For a game with really good joystick support see IL-2:1946 or Rise of Flight.

same case with logitech
the keyboard and mouse earns more money than the joystick
this kind of projects do eat into their budget
so you are only left with 1 or 2 companies who do have joysticks but at a huge price that only few could afford ahem Thurstmasters...

It was an awful prototype with little to no thought put into it.
It's *only* redeeming feature was the map screen, but even that was poorly thought out. You would be much better off by allowing the game to pipe the map screen to a standard monitor (Like Supreme Commander does) so the user can keep the map in their field of view rather than having to look down at the controls.
Also, the form-factor was useless:
Digital turning buttons - why no analogue thumbpad or something for turning?
4 columns of buttons - so OK, no analogue turning - we use WSAD style layout on keys instead. Oh wait - 4 columns? so we have 1 extra row to right or left, but not one either side? Nothing for pinkies?
Hilariously placed throttle slider - How the hell are you meant to use that comfortably mid-game?

Agreed, however, right now there is no format for analog turning input. So any thoughts of using analog for turning is a waste of time until they code that in.
Honestly, they could do us all more of a favor by hiring an Android dev and get the minimap to export to that, use your favorite tab/phone and go from there. While not perfect, it's at least viable, this Razer thing never was.

i would be happy enough if the saitek HOTAS system would be useful in MWO... but joystick is FAR FAR inferior to mouses, so i don´t even think about any other way than mouse/keyboard anymore... every office mouse is better, if you let the additional buttons aside...

The only way a joystick is going to compare for aiming is if the game maps it in Absolute mode (ie full left is twisted full left, not twisting left at full speed).
Even then, you would probably want an unsprung stick with a large throw (Long shaft) to get comparable accuracy to a mouse.
Joystick, however, is superior to keyboard for turning and speed.

No real surprise, last we heard they were assessing it's viability.
Nvidia don't promote MWO like PLanetside, WoT, Hawken so it's im not surprised Razer have dropped it too.
I don't think it was really viable from the outset.

I thought it could be viable if it was implemented well.. but that idea wont ever see the light of day so I guess nobody will know for sure.. maybe they took it down for a redesign or something and will still do it.. maybe they won't..
