should I upgrade or would I be good for MWO 1080P at decent graphics and 50-60fps?

AMD Phenom II x4 2.8ghz (830) http://www.newegg.co...N82E16819103993
8gb (1333) Ram
2 XFX Radeon 6770s http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814150540
Biostar TA990FXE motherboard (AM3+) http://www.newegg.co...biostar%20990fx

PCIe slots are x16, x16, x4 so 2 video cards are being fully used (to my knowledge)

just wondering if this will be decent or if upgrading will make it so I can run at ultra settings with decent fps

which do you think should be a priority?
CPU, or GPU?

you should be good for max settings or very close to max at 1080p with 50+fps as your system sits

just thinking of how to improve for MWO, as that will be on my screen as long, or longer than Guild Wars 2.

I'd wouldn't bother with anything less than a 7970 or GTX670/680 when upgrading crossfireX 6770 cards. Your pretty much in the same boat as me, but with different cards. My current specs-

CPU/heatsink- I7 2600k @ 4.5ghz w/ Corsair H60 heatsink
MB- MSI Z68A-GD80(G3)
RAM- Corsair Vengence 8gig(2*4gig) DDR3 1600
GPU- 2* XFX 5870 in CrossfireX
SSD- OCZ Vertex 2 180gb
HD- 500gb Seagate Barracuda 7200.12
PSU- XFX PRO750W X X X edition
Case- Lian Li V1200b Plus II
OS- Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

hows that H60 doin for you? my system running 9 Firefox Tabs, and 1 google chrome netflix is at about 55C..
i've heard a lot of bad things about them and a lot of good but never really asked anyone that owned one..
have you experienced any leaking or anything like that that would screw your system?

i'm runnin on my stock cooler still..

No problems with it at all, but I've only had it since last January. My 2600k at full load hits around the 70'c mark at 4.5ghz. I did add a second fan to the H60 for a push/pull config to improve cooling.

they did say it was the CPU , more or less that was causing Bottle necks , it really needs a quad core . that being said The AMD isnt as strong as intel , but a newer AMD chip is coming out that is supposed to be a real bargain .

He's current QUAD core CPU is plenty for MWO from what has been said by the Devs

the 8120/8150 (8150@$200) is a steal in my opinion.. 8 core? for $200.... ****.....
my case (coolermaster storm scout) can support up to like a h80, but I keep reading horror stories about "anti freeze" smell coming from someones computer and it being from the water cooler...
I can't really overclock my CPU just because either:
A: stock cooler cant handle it and I get blue screens
B: I have a locked processor and get blue screens anyway
C: the auto overclocker that Biostar comes with isn't that great and I get blue screens..

I had my processor at like 3.4-3.5 I think.. with the auto overclocker.. but I kept getting blue screens.. I finally said screw it and put everything back to stock..
I never really got into overclocking.. wouldn't mind it though..

I even did manual overclocking at 2.9 and got blue screens.. so yeah.. I have no idea what i'm doing when it comes to overclocking.. thats one of the reasons i've been debating on a 8120 (multiple processes (firefox in the background when I just don't close it)

The problem with the 8x series of AMD processors is that they don't have dedicated (Arithmetic and Logic Unit) ALU's so for every two cores is a single ALU, so effectively on many of these games that are fairly ALU intensive, you're not going to be seeing a major improvement over a 4 core system.

Doubt you'll see much gain going from your current Phenom II to a 8120 or 8150. Learn to OC would be my CPU suggestion. I learned from reading the forums at www.techpowerup.com . Don't be afraid to ask questions there. The people there are usually alot more friendly than at other tech websites.

not really lookin for too much, just worry about capping out sometimes..
COD MW3 uses about 75-80% of all my cores according to my g19 logitech performance monitor..
always like a second opinion.. especially with people that are around on these fourms.. like Vulp (can't spell the rest of his name off hand).
I notice him around all the time on these fourms giving advice.

and usually the more I read, the more I freak and get paranoid about getting something and regretting it later..

Yeah, Vulpesveritas does know what he's talking about for the most part. You just got to look though his fanboyism every now and then. He does mean well though.

Totally buying a new system for MWO. I've been waiting forever and now I find out my system isn't up to snuff!
O well time for an Alienware purchase ;)

I think an i5 2500K with a Z77 mobo along with a AMD 7870 is good. Not sure pricing in NA but if i had to build a new system here in Australia I would think of building that. The 7870 is soooooo close in performance to a 7950 but much cheaper, well here in Australia anyway.
