So, with all the hub-bub about the clans and their appearance, why not have a certain day where at a certain server time, some matches that gets started after the time starts for the next say.....12 hours, the teams will be fighting their battle, when a dropship descends and starts hot-dropping Clanners all over the place. Both teams will be forced to fight off the "Invasion." Regardless of whether they win or lose, they would receive some special reward(i.e. some Clan lasers, or maybe some Clan electronics or something.) and then the news would slowly spread from those first few games, until it became a huge 'HOOOOLY CRAP! CLANS! LET'S GO 'SPLODE THEM!" thing. And then you could introduce playable clans, or PvE clan missions.

That's my two cents.

You wouldn't expect a random dropship and some Mad Cats would you?

I would because I know what planets were attacked and around what date. And this format has been suggested several times.

EDIT: It's a Timberwolf :P

You better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout I'm telling you why
The Spaniards Clans are coming to town
They know when you are sleeping
They know when your awake
They know if you've been bad or good
So be good for kerensky's sake

No, see, you know what happens in the timeline as it exists now.

With the Community Warfare aspect of things it's possible that the Inner Sphere will look very different in the timeline that we're all going to be shaping, and if the Inner Sphere looks very different then the Clans will look at it very differently and may end up attacking on a different axis.

This, by the way, is part of what makes MWO so freaking awesome...my opinion. :P

I like your motivation and intent. You could be on to something. The game mechanics of being a player and seeing friendly/hostile targets on HUD, wouldn't mean much that a Clan Force drops unless there is some intel that was provided before it. Remember, when the Clans first hit, the IS units didn't know who the Clans were. For all we'd know in the heat of battle in the above scenario is that our enemy force is greater than our intel had indicated. The two "enemy" forces that were interupted by unknown (clan) forces would still likely be engaged as enemies and not working together against Clan.

Maybe continue developing your idea with a component of a batchall challenge broadcast and go down the road of Devs (Clanners) vs Players (Inner Sphere) involving just your team/unit, not two IS units, it has a workable appeal, IMHO. Probably should recomponse and post as a "Suggestion" in Developers forum.

When the title suggested "unique" I was hoping it was to bring down most of the Clans and leave two Clans behind to guard the Homeworlds deploying clusters to monitor each of the access routes.

Too bad, it would have been grand...

It would be more unique if one of the home clans not chosen to participate in the invasion (lets take....the Blood Spirits for example) would make a lone run to conquer the Inner Sphere way before march 3050. Something like the Hellion Khan planned some decades ago, just this time there would be no saKhan stopping him or her.

(Yeah, yeah, I'm just trying to get a cheap "like" by Gremlich :( ).
