i had adjusted my user.cfg for my joystick a couple weeks ago,, after yesterday i feel like im a dancing robot .did they make a change to the game to not read the user.cfg?

No, but you may need to check it. I'm not aware of any actual patches but once in awhile and a patch has been known to wipe the user.cfg file.

Yah, at this point (maybe not in the future) modding user.cfg seems to be use at your own risk.

I copied my user.cfg to the test build's folder, and it worked and applied my higher FOV setting.
Make sure you have Windows set to show you file extensions, otherwise you may be creating a file named user.cfg.txt instead of user.cfg.

The devs have stated that some variables are allowed to be changed and some are locked out. These change from time to time. As far as I know, there is no list.

I had trouble getting windows to actually change mine to a .cfg file from user.cfg.txt. My simple and stupid solution was to make a copy of another .cfg file, rename it, and delete everything and add the FOV setting. Worked just fie for me.
