In the period between the game ending, and the final scoreboard appearing, any LRMs still in flight cause damage and still score kills on stationary, defenseless targets.

Yea...

In MW4, those missiles essentially went into a "****" path when the match was over. Something like this should be considered, unless intententional. I'm just not sure what side effects there would be from that (imagine if it caused a draw).

It is not only LRMs, any damage that does not require player interaction will continue eventually killing the Mech even after the score board is disabled.

For example a few days ago a friendly Victor jumped on top of my nearly undamaged Phract while we were capping. My Mech continously took damage after we won the game via capping 'til it got destroyed.

However any kill happening after the game ends will not count toward the scores, so this is basicly a cosmetic issue.

It should count.. Just like when the buzzer goes of with basketball and someone allready has thrown the ball at the basket. If it hits it still counts.

Games like TIM (the incredible machine) and I think it was world of goo also had a cooldown timer before ending the game to see if some things would change after the goal was reached.

Those kills/deaths that happen after a round ends are not counted.

If those kills count, It wouldn't be fair for those mechs that were heading for cover from LRMs (as they stop moving when the round ends). It's much simpler to just stop counting after the round ends.

Kills aren't that important anyway.

You don't lose money or XP if you're killed. You (and your assisting teammates) do get money and xp if you get the kill. Who gives a ratsass for their k:d ratio? To justify the delay counting: With direct weapons you can instakill, with rockets you at least have to wait a few seconds more than the slowest ballistic projectile can hit someone.

If you look at forrest valley for example, with PPC's, gaus and some AC's you can hit the enemy within 10 seconds after the start of the game, if you want to hit someone with LRM's you'll average about 40seconds/1 minute?

And if I want to be the devils advocate: If you are so low on health that you can't withstand one hit of LRM, you shouldn't be in open space anyway.

Imagine the exitement (and rage, oh yes the sweet rage!) people (you) get when the last enemy Jenner is capping your base and he takes the cap, but not before he gets a allready on his way salvo of LRM taking the Jenner out after the cap resulting in a Draw. This would make the people who boat only LRM a little more viable. It has been too many times that I've seen Catapults, Awesomes and Stalkers carrying only LRM without any backup weapons that they are more of a burden than help.

Geez you people drive me nuts, the guy brings up a valid point as to why your idea wont work and you go into a rant...I brought forward an issue, that by rights, shouldn't happen; though Bloody Moon brought forward that it is only cosmetic, so it doesn't really matter anyway.
