I normally play from Moscow with a 130-160 ping, but the second week of June I went back to the U.S. for some business and vacation. The 29 -35 ping matches were a revelation to me. It was a significantly different experience. No lag shields, and with HSR my shots impacted almost every single time. Also, no screen freezes while my video card was trying to reconcile where it knew I was with where PGI was telling it I was.
I'm a decent shot sometimes, but all of a sudden I felt pretty darn good about my skills of hitting mechs where I was aiming. All it took was the worthless piece of s**t PGI servers to be close enough to actually respond to my input in a timely fashion.

Mediums/Lights/Assaults it's just boring PPC snipe-fests.

Russians? Bah. Take a good look at the Oceanics, who have close to 300 ping. But Australia is just a small island anyway, right PGI?

...every now and then, you have a good brawl, and it makes it all worth it.

That's the optimistic newbies skewing the poll. They will learn to be cynics soon enough.

I am complaining sometimes a lot, because although I have fun most of the time, it could be way better

My 6Mlas-boating Jenner weeps about the insult done to it , oh you evil evil person ^^
Although the ongoing "high-pinpoint-alpha" has grown old very quickly I do enjoy the games played for the most part, because of showing one doesn´t need to permanently go "easy-mode" to be deadly if all works out well on my team/my end (I tend to derp up when it´s most crucial^^) .

Key reasons:
1. I almost always PUG, and the Matchmaker almost always puts me on teams of lower skilled players up against premades. So I find myself last man standing and getting ROFLstomped by 6 enemy Mechs in about 80% of matches. I am lucky if one game in ten ends up being even partly close. It's just no fun. (Sure, when I am lucky enough to be part of a team it's a better experience. But sadly, that's not much of the time.)
2. Not enough maps. I swear, I get close to disconnecting now when I see the Alpine load screen, because I just can't stand that long tedious walk to the long range PPC/LRM shooting gallery. Canyons is heading in the same direction.
3. Not enough game modes. Conquest and Assault end up effectively being the same mode, because almost everyone plays Conquest as if it's a TDM.
4. I have lost faith in the devs. Ask The Devs #42 made me lose all hope. PGI admitted they haven't even finished designing Clan Warfare (which was due for launch last December), they can't/aren't going to fix convergence, they're not going to rescale the Mechs, we won't be able to save loadouts in UI 2.0 when it eventually comes, no new game modes are planned, no word on new maps, etc. Oh, but they have been working on decals, a new store and 3PV - stuff we couldn't care less about and makes no difference to the core game.
I love MechWarrior. It's been my favourite game series for almost 30 years. But MWO is becoming a relentless and somewhat unrewarding grind. I think it's time for me to put it on the backburner.

Honestly I still play fairly often, but after over 3000 drops it does get a bit stale..

That's why I'm trying to get involved in a faction based community. I've only been playing this for a week, and while I like it, and can foresee it getting old very quickly.
