I thought I'd buy this as it on offer I'd rather waste cash, than my life grinding them
The changes I've made are minimal, removed the lrm 10's srm6 replaced with a LRM 15 and 20
its still standard in every other way..I'm killing with it..
I'd hate to think how much damage I could do with it once its got endo, DHS's maybe even fit out a XL, lol no chance..
I've mastered Atali, and Highlanders, in the process of doing the same with the Victor, I mess about with awsomes
I've finally understood how stupidly over powered this mech is, using the current open customisation.
The only weakness I've found with it, is alone and unsupported its light mech fodder, which is going top be highly unlikely in a sync drop.
It needs, as do other mech more limiting weapon load outs, or I don't think this game will ever get nicely balanced.
Heat..on its own isn't going top fix this game, weapon convergence, aim time, more limited load outs might..
All I feel at is that the stalker is a free ride in the games present state

well its way smaller than it should be. You have twice the chance of hitting an atlas at the same range. while they both put out the same amount of firepower on you.
(the stalker arguablyl more because PPCS)

There's no need for nerfs affecting all mechs just because PGI made one of the assault mechs the size of a Catapult.

Well I was just posting about my Stalker 3F, and saw this. I have some comments.
First of all, I think the 3F is the only viable option, because it has better torso twist (By Far)
That being said, here is why it is not as good as you say.
You cannot upgrade armor + structure + heat sinks because then you would have ZERO slots for weapons.
As far as XL engine, No.
All suggested builds, are thus.
Stalker 3F, with Standard 300 engine, and Double Heat Sinks + your choice of loadout.
That is my rig, and i can say, yes, it feels POWERFUL, but no, its not a god.
I take full advantage of the "high up" arm guns, by only poking my head out. And a great game, is where I snipe fat damage, on distracted enemies from 500 yards.
BUT, I REALLY need to be patient, and stay behind my team. Stalkers turn damn slow, so when you cross the wrong ridge, you are F'd. They wail on you, as you waddle your slow butt out, and its usually to late.
Also, as i think was stated above, little bots, can school you so bad. If your team wont help, a mini, can park on your butt, and laser zap until you die. Turning, and twisting, is futile, and shameful.

Stalkers are only a problem when they're looking at you. Get behind them and they're helpless. Even the mighty 3F.

That's why a good pilot with a mastered chassis, especially the 3F, can back-turn his fat *** against terrain and melt you as you bounce about like Tigger in his front arc!

as every other assault mech....the only real downside the stalker has is that it has no jump-jets (and arguably the lack of lateral arm-movement). Every other aspect of the stalker is as close to perfection as it gets (at least compared to the other mechs)

It's just one of the things you need to consider when deciding how to engage an enemy stalker. If the terrain is such that I can out maneuver him and he can't back up and park, I'll take on a stalker every time. My Victors, AWS PB (prior to SRM nerf), AWS 9M, and Yen Lo Wang excel at killing stalkers, at least at my ELO level.

Their laughably small size + slender profile when in the most dangerous position (aiming at you) + their wonky hitboxes + their overload on weapon hardpoints together make the Stalkers more than a bit stupid.
Sadly, most of the issues I don't see being addressed, at least not in a way that doesn't weaken everything else and leave the Stalker as the king of the heap. The lousy scaling is what bugs me the most since it's buggered up numerous mechs in the game - the bloated Awesome, the insanely oversized Quickdraws, Trenchbuckets, and Centurions, etc. The Stalker is just the only one significantly undersized, and it is able to exploit that in every way.
