Cockpit shake for heavies/assaults should be set extremely high in order stop poptarting.

falling damage and heat systen fixes will curb but not stop the tactic. cockpit shake is not a great fix. it should be a surmountable limitation only really affecting the tactic at longer ranges.

You do know they are shooting on the way down, ie when there is no shake.

to be honest there seems to be a good place right now.
i think thre was an issue with people getting dizzy. But they can always increase crosshair shake with the same result.
which wouldn't matter because of this good point
so maybe what you want is some shake during the very first part of falling down

Why? they already have to expose the entire mech in order to poptart, and the shot window for an accurate shot is somewhere around .5 to .25 seconds.
IMO, it takes quite a bit of skill to land a clean shot with poptarting now, and it is certainly more dangerous as you have to expose so much of your mech to do it.
It is in a good place where it is not better than hill popping but can be effective in the hands of a skilled player. No change necessary.

who said they wanted to stop poptarting vs make it more difficult? if they wanted to stop it they would of just made it so when your mechs is in the air it can't fire.
shake and reticle wobble where put in to make it harder to do, the shake wasn't working out well but the reticle still keeps you from shooting straight when your jumping. its fine

Is there any weapon system that you don't think is OP?

Seriously, the OP is nuts.

The cockpit shake for all mechs on jumpjet activation is next to nothing now. It is absolutely cake to line up your shot on the way up, release JJ, toggle Arm Lock for faster convergence and fire. Poptarting is alive and well, I know, I do it all the time. The cockpit shake was intended to make lining up a target harder, and it worked. Your shot window was reduced by a huge amount because you had to finesse your aim after you released the JJ. Without the shake I can do it on the way up.
For me it is just as easy to jump snipe now as it was before the "fix."
