Hello all.
I've been playing MWO a little bit for the last few days and while I think it has bright spots, it needs a bit of work still. I doubt it'll get all the polish it needs by release, but that's life.
1. Can't veiw my stats, change alliegiances, or update my pilot icon in game.
2. No tutorials at all. This is bad. You need these for the new players coming in. Especially those not familiar with the core rules. Example, how do you change weapong groupings? I don't see any place in the mech lab for that. I had to look on youtube to find the answer.
3. Not enough time to talk tactics with your team and get an idea of what everyone can do before a match. For random groups this can be a liability. Do you cap the base? Hunt everyone down? Guard your own base? Not knowing the enemy types like other games (LOL) hurts.
4. It needs a first match of the day or first 3 wins of the day C-bill bonus. You really aught to do something to encourage people to log in at least once a day.
5. I'm not happy with mech bays being real money only. I think you are wandering into the fighting the players a little too hard. If you could own 2 of every class it'd be more tolerable, but as is, it seems a little to strict.
6. What roles are there for each size for the two map types. In LOL you've got tanks, assassins, supports, tanky brusiers, ADCs, and the source of all internet fury: Teemo. Going back to tutorials this should be explained.
7. I think we need more map types so a proper meta can form. Likewise I think we need at least one map type where we can select our mechs after our teams have been assigned.
8. We probably need an anti-speed cap map or system in place. It's not always easy to herd the cats... I mean coordinate your team, so when the other team has 6 light mechs and you have 7 slower mechs you haven't just wasted a match. I appreciate quick matchs, but some things can be too quick. This is major a balance issue that needs to be a priority to be fixed. Note I'm not against speed caps altogether, but it needs to be something that is an intentional choice.
9. We need a map where you can respawn during a fight (sort of like Dust 514 or LOL) or go back to a base to refit and repair like in Mechwarrior 3. Or was it 4? Whatever. Quick matches are great, don't get me wrong, but I think we need something with a little more depth and stratedgy.

I understand you're a fan of LoL but this isn't a MOBA type game. Though you do have some good points and more than reasonable suggestions, just because both games are free to play doesn't mean they are going to share the same similarities beyond that aspect.

Most of what you suggest is already in the pipe. I hope daily wins will give a small amount of MC so that players can buy Mechbays and other small things after a week or two. I think this would also promote MC buys...

Johnny, I don't think that MC from wins is a great idea. IIRC, Riot gives you like 500 RP for free once you hit level 5 as a one time deal. That's something that might work. Give people a one time taste (maybe a few MC for christmas if they've been good) and that should be that. I understand why you are suggesting it (work for rewards), but part of being F2P is there have to be some things you can only get via money. Usually vanity stuff.
Jeff, I know this isn't a MOBA but in some ways I'm surprised it's not. Where are the helicoptors and tanks and ground troops? I speficially remember those things in one of the mechwarrior games I've played. In other ways, as a F2P game you just have to balance around that. I'm sorry but match times of 5 minutes are too short. FFA combat is fine, but we also need maps where you have to game plan it with pros and cons to each option.
BTW Here's something else I saw: a tool tip saying download something called C3. What's C3 and why do I have to DL it?

C3 is a voice communication program, much like Ventrillo, Dolby, TeamSpeak. I don't particularly use it because I usually just drop into games solo. But I know quite a few people that use it, I don't recall if you needed to downloaded it or not to play. Its been awhile since Ive installed the game and c3
