I finally found a good build (I sold my soul and loaded it with PPCs and gauss) and now.....

Still good. One gauss and 2 ppc still work!

But that third ppc...

2ppc gauss. run it with an xl350 and call it a slightly slower/better armored 3D. admittedly can be done with any of the 3 cbill variants, but such is now life for any assault with more then 2 energy hardpoints. either load up on heatsinks, or run a silly mixed loadout. or boat mediums.
you could alternatively use the extra tonnage from the 3rd ppc to run it with a relatively fatty standard engine. but again, all doable (and arguably more benefical since you split the weapons between both sides of the mech) on the cbill variants.

I guess I could mothball it for the time being. I already have the basic efficiencies done, and about 10k xp in the bank...

Well, maybe with the 2.0 srms they will scratch 33% more paint, making them less useless? SRM6+SRM4 and 2 tons of ammo for the same weight as the extra PPC.

Ditto. I got my Dragon Slayer with 3 PPCs and a Gauss. But in the last few days, I have moved it to 2 ERPPCs and a Gauss. Training and steeling myself for that day, so I am not going to wait for the last moment.
You can still mount your 3 PPCs, but chainfire. That is actually formidable on its own right. 3 LLAS is not bad too, set on chainfire.

Gauss + PPC + PPC + ER PPC = no worries until end of month.

I've been using my Victor as a fast assault brawler. It involves a lot of sneaking to murder those jump snipers and ranged support Atlas's in the back row that have forgotten (or never learned) how to brawl.
But it is highly satisfying.

why not brawl a bit?
DRAGON SLAYER
just clicking around, i don't have one, i think it's a bit to hot but you could always throw the ac5 out and take a ac10 or lbx with more ammo and heatsinks.

Make it two ER's and complement with streaks.

ER PPC
Gauss
2 ML
2 Streaks
350XL
14 DHS
4 JJ
Doing very well with it at almost a 2.0 K/D rate and climbing.
You have never needed to boat to be successful.

Run it like a real man, and toss in 2 MPL, 2 SSRM packs and a PPC/Gauss.
Sniping is boring and for little girls worried too much about stats.
