I am SUPER happy with the change! My founders finally doesn't look like an oxidized penny! *does snoopy dance*. That being said, I have always been a huge advocate for options, and I'm sorry that those that liked the old look can't recreate it. Not sure why the drastic change when all was needed was an option to change the overall color.

Oh wow. I dont have a founder mech but i really thought it were some of the best skins with the detailed "worn out" look...thats a really sad rehash imo:

Personally I loath the new texture, to me it simply seems like the mech was gone over with sand paper over every surface, then left in under a drop ship to get charred. Not a fan of the used look on most mechs. I prefer very shiny/or smooth surfaces personally, like its taken care of by good techs. The previous texture may not have been my choice of color, but at least I didn't feel like my mech was bought at Pirate Bob's Discount Emporium! That and the fact that no color really displays correctly on this skin is just horrid. I say if you like the "Worn" look more power to you, not my mech though please. Make that a cheap or free camo option maybe.

does anyone think that this is something that could be brought up in the next Ask The Devs? I mean, I was really excited when they said they'd eventually get around to making the founder's mechs repaintable. I drive my Founder's Cat more than any other mech by far (almost 900K xp and counting), and so the ability to repaint it and change the main shade of blue/green was appealing. But I never thought that they'd utterly trash everything about it. Even if you mess around with the colors (which you have to buy) to try and reproduce the original design, the pattern is all messed up and nowhere near as distinct as it was before. The textures are muddy and dirty and look utterly trashed where before they weren't. And EVEN THEN you still can't even come close to reproducing how it looked before.

I'm not normally one to trot out the 'PGI doesn't appreciate the founders' card, but holy crap this reskin job is just BAD. We KNOW what the art team here is capable of. The mechs in this game, even the ones I don't find personally appealing, are pieces of art. So why is this retexture job such a joke? I can only assume it was rushed (not sure why, it's not like we hadn't already waited a LONG time already, and the default founders skins were and are awesome). But this is basically a slap in the face of those who put up (collectively) a lot of money to help this game. Many of us didn't ASK to have our Founder's mechs messed with. We didn't -need- to have the beautiful paint jobs we payed for thrashed and taken away. Variety and options are good, but only when they don't come at the cost of that which we had already been delivered and were happy with.

Now some people like the new skin. I'm not sure why, but hey, art is totally subjective. If PGI gave us the option of selecting the old colors/skin as an option (even if it couldn't be altered), that would make most people happy. Because right now I can't be the only Founder who feels slighted by this.

I don't feel slighted in the least..could it be better sure. I'm just happy I can change the color to my units colors. And if given to option to change it back to before or keep it as it is now..I'd keep it.

The new one looks crap and the Jenner also looks crap paying $120 for a look (yes and other things the look was the most important to me otherwise i would have just gone with the cheaper elite pack) then having the look taken away in my eyes is theft plain and simple.

Dirty Jenner! Dirty Catapult! Whats next to come The Dirty Hunchback and the Dirty Founder's Atlas? Seriously? The founders mechs that have been redone so far look like they fell in a Tar pit and don't even have a tiny bit of the 3 colors they are supposed to have on them.

I hope the designers figure out that TAR, TAR and TAR = Re'TAR'ded choice on their part. Lets make the founder's mech look cool! The dragged in the mud look is a 'Gud Ideah" Durhh Durhhh!

Here's an non 'Tartartarded' idea. How about you give all the founders the 3 Founder Colors to put on all their mechs instead of continuing down the 'Tar'ded path.

I've tried to "rebuild" my old Jenner and Catapult skin, but there's no chance. The original colors are too dark.
That's not the way we wanted to color our Founders Mechs!

Stop this and do not change my Hunchback or Atlas this way.

New paint is all fine and good, BUT

I just do not get why we are not able to chosse between the new paint and the old one??? I mean, they already have made the old one, a lot of people (me included) liked it. Why no option to switch???

I am glad to see that original colors go. I hated them. They reminded me of the faded walls of a 70's department store. It was down right ugly and I'm glad that I can change it now.

I am, however, with the color reproduction however I can live with it just as long as it doesn't mean I have to go back to those ugly blues.

(PGI decision makers meeting): [guy 1]: oh crap, now these guys want to paint their founders, we have to do something, they gave us 5 million bucks.
[guy 2]: Yeah Yeah...but the 5 million is already in the pocket. We need to keep selling stuff, and founders Mechs are no sell-able anymore. So...
[guy 1]: Know what? We have this new internship candidates here, lets hire one real cheap and let him do it. Just to make it seem like we care.

(a few weeks later): [clueless intern]: this is really hard man! The original skin on these Mechs was not separated into colors. I have to redo everything. Can't get it right.
[his boss]: Just get it done. We need you in weapons balancing. Start from scrap with a grayish skin covering everything and then slap a little color here and there, close to where the original colors were. Don't worry about getting it to look like the one we had first. That one did its job already! We will call this a weathered look. lolololol

Yeah I did not like the jenner, I do not like this . We have traded the solid look of a pristine founders mechs for dulled colors after a sandblasting.

My hope is they return the look of the founders mechs, and allow us to paint them.
