I think they are missing the point with Alphas...its not heat but pin point damage. So now when I run my 3PPC Awesome (stock style) I get penalized for it! Why?

Absolutely right. I told them, many people told them, it's an obvious point. Their current system favors Gauss/PPC snipers. The optimal thing now is 2 PPC+1 Gauss. What they accomplished is to invalidate a lot of chassis types and unbalance others, that can load Gauss&PPCs at the same time. Total **********. Especially since the logic is clear: Pin point is the cause, heat is a far too large/broad/inaccurate remedy, that causes more harm than good.

AWS-9M "Allesyria"

http://goo.gl/jPbxhn

350 STD engine, 20 DHS, 432 armor points and a 1.32 heat efficiency.

This mech is a beast and thought it lacks a lot of long range equipment it more than makes up for it by being an exceptionally cool running beast of a brawler.

Just using the 4 mediums and large laser or the Srm's this mechs is almost heat neutral.

You can constantly put alpha after alpha on target in all but the most lengthy of engagements which IMHO is exactly what you need for an Enforcer. High Intensity fighter, something that just doesn't stop throwing damage.

Up close and personal just go to the Mediums and SRM's while alternating the Large laser as heat dictates.

This mech can more than stand toe to toe with all other mechs and do the whole Submachineguns at 10 paces but you are far better off using it's 350 STD and 80 kph speed to run circles around other mechs and roll your torso to avoid damage.

XL on Awesomes is suicidal. At my level of play Awesome itself is suicidal; sometimes when ELO/Matchmaker rarely works, I used to go around in this strange thing with a good degree of success: AWS-9M

it's silly I know, but it was surprisingly effective. I've always loved 9M dual tube launchers, they are lovable for vanilla SRM4's (1 in the CT along with a medium the other in the LA).

Without the silly Ghost heat and when ELO didn't yet kicked in, I enjoyed wrecking hell in this AWS-9M, that was really Awesome, supreme pinpoint DMG in suicide brawling, dual SRM4's to crit when it was worth (and the SRMs pattern left those to be pretty much tighter than now), fast enough to fade in or fade out. Without AMS it could hold a nice xl 360 for added speed, I bought that engine purposedly for this 9M.

Now with the current meta I'd avoid XLs at all costs unless they aren't a 375 at least though I've never had to buy anything bigger than my 360xl so I won't certainly do it with this meta. Before 3PPC was nerfed i used a 320 or 325 std engine with 3xPPC and 3xSMLAS that was pretty fun, now I'd take out that thing with something like this AWS-9M or the initially mentioned LL+4ML+2SRM4, but in pug of course.

Note: This is not an alpha striker, it's a one-two-one long range puncher with med range backup.

Zolaz's advice : Sell, that hunk of junk and then buy a DDC. Awesomes are all wastes of a mech bay.
