ok so heat scale penalty because of PPC boating? ok.
Apply Heat Scale penalty to EVERY WEAPON in the game? ok...
wait a minute now, if everyone has a heat scale penalty because 2 of a weapon counts as boating.... then doesnt that by default mean PPC is still king? if the PPC fix is applied to every weapon system like they did today then in essence the game is in the same place it was yesterday.... just hotter.

actually the problem is precisely because they approached this problem from a math approach.
They looked at the problem by looking at the numbers in a piece of paper rather than playing the game and reaching enlightenment.
2 PPC >> 2 LL .
20 instantly applied damage to one armor location >> 18 damage spread and split through 2 to 5 different armor sections over 1 second time.

I think what he means is if you boat x# weapons, the regular heat of using each weapon goes up. You couldn't chain fire or toggle the shots to escape the penalty.

uh.. no it doesn't.
Heat penalties apply only if you fire more than 2 of those weapons in a 0.5 second period. You can chain fire them at the normal heat cost. You can also macro or manually have weapon sets of 2 weapons per group fire 0.5 seconds apart to avoid penalties.
Many stalkers now are running a 'new boat' : 2 ppcs, 4 LLs with 2 LLs grouped with the 2 PPCs and the other 2 LLs firing 0.5 seconds (via macro) after the first group fired.

This thread has no real purpose that isn't being fulfilled better by existing threads (no math was presented by the OP, or any values at all). It is being jettisoned.

Fair enough, but the heat penalty is far lower for LLs than PPCs.
Not that I agree with any of this heat penalty ****. But PPCs totally take a harder hit.

I wonder if we'll ever be able to create a system that will only utilize the simplest, most effective methods and decisions from a community that will cater for the largest possible population of the target demographic for a developing computer game.
