Exactly...

No we wont. 4 Clan Streak SRM6s fired in alpha will only be able to manager about 6-7 damage per location based on the current Streak Model and that number is based on 2 damage per missile. Your sure as hell not going to be taking out anyone fast doing that little concentrated damage. Probably looking at around 10 Salvos or 240 missiles to manage to burn through the average Assault mechs armor enough to take it out.

And? This is vs an Assault. Think about that against lights and mediums. Even at 1.5 clan SSRMs are going to be brutal against those mechs especially now that they will target legs instead of CT 75% of the time.

SSRMs dont require a whole heck of alot of skill. If they ever change them so that they require some level of skill and and or limit their flight mechanics, then they deserve a damage increase. Until then, leave them be.

Earlier this would have been the case but with the new SSRM aiming mechanics, I beg to differ. For example, I have 4xSRM6 stalker and 5xSSRM2 stalker and I have of course been wondering what would happen with SSRM4/6. At the moment I think the following would happen:

The 4xSRM6 stalker (which doesn't even have artemis) will be *better* than 4xSSRM6 version in general because with that I can at least get the volley, let's say, waist up. With SSRMs, it's just gonna spread all over.

So I think the SSRM spread changed them a lot and they would also deserve damage at 2.0. Btw I think the spread is great because the earlier pinpoint CT was horrible. Now you can occasionally leg a light with SSRMs.

No they shouldn't.

Reason? the guidance system takes space/weight inside the missile. Since one ton srms = one ton ssrms and they have the same range, they must have removed some of the missile's warhead payload in order to make space.

6 SSRM 6 with the current model is 54 damage, thats almost a 1 shot to many mechs legs and side torsos.

guidance system is a little chip and some small motors on the fins that AT MOST weigh A pound. according to a quick google conversion these missiles should weigh about 20 pounds each. the guidance system is not a weight concern. you MIGHT be losing 5% of the payload.
