just having recently purchased my atlas, i have noticed that it seems to get hung up on even the slightest incline or twig in the road. its almost inproportionate to my other chasis, which are medium and heavy. now i like the new changes that don't allow you to climb up on extreme grades, but wherever a light mech can go, so should they all, and heres the physics.
a light mech relies on its superior speed to propell it over the inclines, but lacks mass, thus should lose speed rapidly. the heavier the mass, the less speed it should required to move that mass up a similar incline, since the mass has gained momentum, inertia will find it difficult to stop it. however, my atlas loses 10 kph just looking at an incline. heavier mechs should lose speed at a slower rate than lighter ones, and there kinetic energy should carry them up any incline its smaller counterparts can navigate.
the reason i say this is because my atlas literally stops if it has to transverse even the slightest obstacle, and can be a real disadvantage. i like not being to climb up everywhere, but maps like alpine and canyon can be a real pain in the arse, especially going up places you shoild clearly be able to transverse. just a thought.
