Is there a possibility to add black hot thermal vision into the game?

1) Why?
2) ...Why?
3) No.
Reason why #3 is a firm no: Because coming up to launch, dev time is very scarce. You're not going to see them implement something like this, as it would require a bunch of support work too. How do you enable it? Does it get its own keybind? It's a bunch of work, testing, etc for something that would add absolutely nothing to the game, as thermal works just fine as it is.
We're coming up to launch soon, and dev time is already stretched between balancing and tweaking existing systems and getting UI 2.0 and Community Warfare happening.

If this is a valid response than literally every thread not pertaining to game balance or community warfare would need to be closed.
To OP: this would be a nice addition. Really though, if they're doing anything to thermal I'd like them to get more in the way of little touches, things looking like the appropriate temperatures, and so forth.

It's the truth, though.
I was serious with my why question. Really - why? Wouldn't it be kind of hard on your eyes, all white everywhere with black heat sources?
It just seems pretty random to me, like asking for a purple recolor of night vision.

It's a personal preference. I would actually prefer black hot, but to each their own. Asking why doesn't mean that it's a "No". You could ask why *** people are ***, and it's just because they prefer something else.
ANYWAYS. - I agree with Blue Footed Booby. I'd like to see them redo heat values and what is hot.
- Make SMOKE not visible (the plume behind mechs, some smoke stacks in Caustic Valley, Mech corpse smoke, etc, where ever intensely hot air is not present) (and the flip side night vision shouldn't see through the plumes of smoke)
- Shadowed areas are cooler in thermal
- Foot steps leave thermal prints, according to the mech's temperature
- Get rid of the light map layer when in thermals (trees, rocks, and ground are light grey/dim white on a map that is overcast and 29*C ambient temp (forest colony), foam in the water, etc)
If the light map was removed and a real heat map was applied to terrain, I would use night vision more often for navigation since the terrain would kind of blend together and there would be minimal details. WHICH WOULD BE GOOD.

I'm indifferent to color personally - it's not important to me at all.
I'd love to see the things you noted above in thermal - food prints, etc. I'd love thermal to be more "Thermal" and less "Black and White That Happens To Highlight Mechs". I miss how you used to be able to see how hot a mech was running (or how many lasers had hit it!) in Thermal - though I don't miss how it was ridiculous SniperVision. I think that could have been well addressed with what you suggest above however.

Like Blue Footed Boobie and MoonUnitBeta said, It would be awsome if they reworked the thermal/heat values of the objects in-game and what not.
Anyway, the reason I am suggesting this is because I am assuming that the thermal vision in the game is taking the heat values of the objects in game and using an array to figure out what shade of grey it should display it aa or as black or white. All the devs would have to do is invert the color value and done. It most likely is easier said than done but it shouldn't be that hard. I am also assuming that the in-game thermal works almost like FLIR which uses infared light. There are some situations where white hot would be better than black hot and vice-versa.

I like thermal as it is, not perfect but better than Sniper Blues. Would like to see some more "sim"-tweaks as those already mentioned (thermal footprints etc)
