I'm all for playing MWO in a well balanced build. I'm one of the very few that pilots "bads". :D Unfortunately 95% of other gamers play it with a competitive mindset. So what does the competitive crowd do to maximize their chances of winning? Build the mech that will get the job done in seconds. Well I think PGI should start playing this way. They should follow the typical schedule a competitive nerd would play, which is to say play this game hours on end with the following builds.
  • AC40 Jag
  • 4-6PPC Stalker
  • 3PPC+Gauss Highlander
  • Splatcat
  • Dual gauss K2/Jag
  • (LET ME KNOW IF I MISSED ONE)
After playing with these mechs and playing it for weeks, PGI should start to go to work on the imbalances based on these mechs alone. Before these drops, they would probably ask themselves "why isn't everyone choosing to play with the vast load of mechs and their variants?" After these results they would say ".....oh yea.....sh*t. That's why. We're allowing cheese to run rampant thanks to such and such"

ac40 jag now overheats as soon as you start the engine.

PGI seems to play almost exclusively Frankenmechs or they own special snowflakes that are just mediocre. I've never, not once, seen them in a competitive build.
