Not sure what geist null is really talking about. Most of the negativeness that I've seen in the forums is only directed at PGI (they might deserve a little but come on people its a FTP game in beta !!!) In game yes there are people who complain, make poor comments swear their head off, etc. I laugh at these people! When someone says 1 minute into the match that they're on a **** team then is the first to die - how can you not! This game is not your typical FPS. I don't even classify it as that. So people get frustrated and killed, over and over. The learning curve is harder than most especially if you've never played any MechWarrior game at all. Give people a break in the game! Talk to each other. Hey let your teammates know your new - I bet someone says to follow them or is nice enough to help you out. Maybe I'm overly obtimistic but I think we have a decent community.

You get the occasional lout. But I see more polite and friendly comments than insults. Besides as other people have pointed out he hardly played at all before posting this letter. I have seen these letters before in other forums for other games. And most of them are nothing but troll bait. Suprised this hasn't been locked yet...

I agree with some points.

As a humble and mild mannered mechwarrior I often see lots of "trash type" or inappropriate syntax.

We all just have to remember that it is just a game. (A really good game)

If your getting angry then leave the game for a few minutes or an hour, have a cup of tea, do a little real life exercise and I guarantee you will come back with a better approach and attitude to MWO. (or any other game)

My only response to "trash type" now is..

"Calm yourself, it's just a game dude."

Crap, he's on to me! In all seriousness though, I have seen a few places that are worse then this. You ever been to the Black Mesa forums? There, they don't even try to restrict language (heck, even the mods will often curse), and if you suggest something other's consider stupid, they'll let you know real fast.

I think the OP have never seen the gaming communities i have. There were (and are) plenty of games with communities so hostile even the Goons of MWO seem Gentlemen compared to them.
