[NRP]

Hey Primate, add me as a Friend. I'll be on this weekend. Not sure how much help I'll be, but two mechs are better than one regardless.

This is from the League of Legends matchmaking FAQ but it explains the reasoning fairly well.

All I know is that if I don't get some peeps to drop with me at 3am when I can usually play, I'm forever cursed to having zero fun in horrible matches.

My friend and our unit founder, Narcoman played my mechs to see if i was exaggerating.

He usually does 700+ damage and multiple kills, but after 3 matches on my account, he said he couldn't believe what he was seeing, and truly understood why it's so hard for me to even log in anymore.

He carried his teams to 3 terrible losses where he got all the kills and many teammates scored less than 25 damage total.....

jesus dude how is that even possible? I dont think ive ever lost more than 5 or 6 in a row, but sometimes we all have bad days where nothing seems to go right.

Maybe try changing mechs/loadout.

My mechs are doing fine, hundreds in damage, kills, assists, spotting bonus, savior kills, yada yada yada....

In 1200 or so matches, I have lost around 800+ even though when I do get to run with my unit, all agree I play well and more than carry my weight.

I ran a trial Commando this morning to break things up, and even though I died 2nd, I still did more damage than an Atlas and a Highlander on my team who both lived much longer before we lost 0-8 again!

I've suffered a 30+ match skid in my -1X It sucks and it makes you question a lot of things...

How did I fix it? Took a break from the -1X and played my Founder Atlas and my Cent.. Both of which I re-discovered wins and kills. Having now returned to my -1X after roughly a week, I surprisingly am accruing wins and kills, essentially returning back to winning ways despite no change in my Elo rank...

Nutshell? There's ways and means to un-rut besides throwing up your arms in frustration...

What I don't recommend doing is buying into the gloom and doom mongering being tendered in copious around here as of late.

if you really think your elo is the problem (and not just the crapy match maker), grab a spider and play cap warrior for a few hundred matches.

The best way to address a terrible losing streak: Do something else. Either you take a break from the game (even for a day), or stop playing in the mech that's dragging you down for a while. Grind a different chassis or refine your build.

Losing streaks happen more often than not mentally (although MM and/or your teammates may be working against you), so it's kinda up to you to correct it.

It happens to the best of us.

I pretty much exclusively PUG. And my W/L and K/D ratios across all my mechs is about 1.0. So, basically what ELO is supposed to do. But that's averaged across mechs and matches... I'll have streaks of 0-8 losses, I'll have streaks of 3 or 4 kill wins. My Atlas is somewhere over 2 KDR, but the Jag is well under 1.0. This don't help you tho... I just wanted to say that I've SEEN those matches, where you take a medium mech, out damage a couple of Assaults COMBINED, and you can only shake your head.

I can theorize that maybe your ELO isn't that bad, you're just unlucky mixed with odd hours. A group of low ELO players can be matched up with one or two higher ELO puggers to bring the TEAM ELO up to be close to the other team's ELO. The matchmaker maybe is using you to bring your team up? Which doesn't really help much, as you've seen, since the better players on the other team mop up on everyone but you, then gang up on you.

I've also felt like, on a loss-steak, the my team is maybe focus-firing, and the other team is focus-firing, and I've the lucky first target of the other team. That is just bad freakin' luck. Maybe you're getting "lucky" and chosen as the first focus fire target by the other team? Do you paint your mechs hot neon hi-visibility pink??? Someone put a "kick me" sign on your mech??

Like I said, 2/3 are losses. My first 100 or so matches I tried many mechs and had to overcome a physical disability involving my hands and wrists. So I lost most of my matches until I got better, thus entrenching myself into the short bus division.

Now that I've mastered an Assault and a Medium and play much better (of course there's always room for improvement), I'm forever meshed with the teams who play worse than I did back when I truly sucked and was fighting off rheumatoid arthritis issues, lol!

I hope CW, if and when it drops, truly wipes our slate clean so we can start our record over again....but then again, PGI also promised the 1st Founders a slew of other things that have never manifested as well.

We'll see.....

Playing with groups definitely makes the game a lot less frustrating, but I've had some good runs in my Misery even dropping solo. It definitely sounds like you have had a really, really bad run of luck.

Just lost 3 more, all Conquest, 8-0, 8-2, 8-1 on Misery.

Then I won a match on the trial Commando, where I did more damage than our Stalker 3F. Really getting hard to play this mess now...
