Don't know if this happened to anyone else, but couldn't find a post about it but this just happened to me in my last match. Was behind our group launching volley's of LRM from my Stalker and suddenly it reported a Team kill for me. First time its ever happened to me, and defiantly wasn't intended.

Probably killed a teammate directly engaging from close quarters.

It happens when two mechs from opposing teams love each other very much, during the initial hugging, before procreating a baby commando, you target the enemy and rain down hell, he dies but his partner (your teammate) doesn't move out of the remaining 4-5 volleys still on its way to the spot he is standing.

Or you had an opponent with brains and a bit of luck.
All you need to do is see where the LRMs are comming from and move really close to an opponent and slightly below him on a hill. That way all the LRMs will hit him and you are guaranteed a long rain because he will not stop targeting you while he is shooting.... plus you can shoot out his front armor while his back is being cored.

Yep it's not a bug. I run missile boats sometimes and i've teamkilled thrice in my memory (got one just 2 days back).
it usually happens when the scouts insist on engaging the enemy from a distance of 1 metre.
