I apologize for the length of the poll. I tried to make it as comprehensive as possible, but I undoubtedly left some issues out. If you don't see an issue in the poll, and would like it to be included, just post below and I'll update the poll to reflect the issue (unless you pick something that most people would agree - IE: the Commando 1B is way overpowered! - is not an issue).

If you notice any problems with the questions (they are worded poorly, incorrect use of punctuation, spelling errors, what have you) post below and I will be sure to correct the deficiency.

The purpose of this poll is to serve as a collection point for the general feelings of the forum goers of MW:O in regards to current game balance. Discussion below should either be directed towards ways to improve the poll, or discussion of the issues mentioned in the poll.

Cheers.

I was hoping this was literally the poll to end all polls, as in:

"Do you think poll functionality should be removed from the forums."

Ah, wishful thinking...

Wow, all the choices! Which ironically leave such a WIDE array of discussion this thread would go nowhere fast. If you want true (to the point) discussions, search for them, then add your opinion.

I can't believe it forced me to choose which weapons are overpowered. None of them are overpowered unless they're allowed to be boated by just about any mech.

Your polls does not end everything as it asks nothing about the current state of heat, but I don't think you saw my lats topic about it before this got up; http://mwomercs.com/...heat-threshold/

Who the hell voted for Small Lasers, Flamers, AC/2s, and AC/5s being overpowered?

EDIT: Now somebody also voted for Small Pulse Lasers and Machine Guns. WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO?!

I want to clarify my choices for Question 4 (I chose all the options except the last one):

Armor needs to be increased, but it's not the actual armor but the internal structure that needs to be increased. In conjunction, the critical hit system needs to be retweaked to make smaller damaging weapons better at destroying internal items.

Convergence issues does indeed need to be fixed and is one of my fundamental issues with this game.

More restrictive hardpoints is also needed to bring certain mechs inline with others, also to bring legitimacy (HBK and AWS) to others. This is also one of my fundamental issues with this game.

Increased heat penalties goes along with the heat scale and is another fundamental issue.

I like this poll, reminds me of the League of Legends polls they put out. PGI needs to adopt formats like this.

Slight clarification on votes - I voted AC20, PPC/ERPPC, and Gauss as OP, but they are only OP in certain configurations and only due to pinpoint alpha striking in those configurations. such as dual AC20, 4x PPC, 3 PPC+1Gauss. This does not include all possible combinations of future mech/weapon/hardpoints.

If you don't think flamers are overpowered you haven't seen me with them. I call my Jenner meltymchahayoureonfirepants

I also voted for PPC being underpowered, because flamers are the bane of their existance and it just isn't fair.

As for drop tonnage, what about players who end up in the Davion Assault Guards Or similar units? Its fine for those who are PUGs but we players will be getting into canon units eventually (Supposedly) Think this through before knee jerking a half thought out nerf.

If you think it through, being able to field more heavies and assaults means that you will be far more likely to win because those mechs are superior (particularly heavies, which are roughly the same size as mediums, go about as fast, and pack more armor and weapons), especially if the enemy is limited to mostly mediums like canon. I don't think we need to have a faction that will autowin CW just because it would please some roleplayers.

Steiner's canon weakness of having incompetent commanders doesn't apply to MWO for pretty obvious reasons, so all that leaves is their canon strength of spamming fatties everywhere...which, as we've seen in every Mechwarrior game ever, is a straight-up easier way to win.

There really needs to be an "abstain" option.
