If we had a hard cap of 30, as per TT (which is subject to change after testing) it would prevent excessive alphas, since only 2 ERPPCs could fire before shutting down, assuming original heat values are reinstated. With the current boating penalties, 3 standard PPCs would also put you into a shutdown state, with 10 heat per PPC.

If the heatsinks cooled faster than they currently are, and more heatsinks add to that effect I feel the excessive alphas would decrease, and that chainfire would be needed for some of the current boating loadouts.

Heavy/Assault dominance, SRM/LRM/PPC-boating? This is the core of the problem: heat threshold. If devs solve this - there should be no need in questions about "give role to Lights/Mediums", "new heat penalty", "balance the game".

Ya I'm pretty sure this entire thread is completely against the rules and will get your question invalidated...so good job on that one.

Question not mine but 100% agree with it. That's why I want to hear dev's answer. It'll show: is future for MWO or not.

I mean the ask the devs rules, which states no cross linking to garner more votes. But technically he does hit a loophole in that it's not his question....

he should just quote the post and turn that into the body of his thread. i have seen that done before to great effect. also you get more response because generally people hesitate about clicking links when they aren't sure where they lead.

With new Paul's update "Heat Scale - The Maths" I already see that devs think that everything is ok with their "heat system". I fear the worst in MWO's future.
