Heyyyyy,

So I've been mostly playing my Victor 9S these past few days but I felt like a change of pace was in order last night and decided to take out my TBT-7M which has been collecting dust. For me this mech had always been built around having 3 SSRM launchers and some combination of lasers/ppcs so it was mostly a fast close range harasser/striker with some long range capability.

Now with the changes to streaks it was time for a change so I finally decided to try out LRMs more seriously and I've completely fallen in love with this mech all over again. I'm running it as follows:

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...51b60c0d0e52c92

Its not a powerhouse but the 3 MLas are decent direct fire back up weapons and the double LRM10 hit decently hard. The best is that coupled with the speed and mobility I can get in and out of range when and how I want plus JJs make keeping LOS much easier. Looking forward to having the cbills for the target decay module.

Any extra thoughts on this build would be appreciated.

Anyone else still running trebuchets? Though there have been more medium mechs in game since tuesdays patch it seems like there hasn't been the same revitilization for Trebs.

Needs LRM15s. I would downgrade the engine and or remove jump jets.

I've never been a fan of LRM trebs, they do work well.

I prefer a good brawler. Treb 7M .Try it with SRM6's, its the only way I've ever ran this mech. Been that way since they came out. Worked well with 1.5 srms now its great again!!

Easily my best Trebuchet, or tied with my 3C. The speed is addictive!

Man its freaky how fast those 3Cs can go. And thats not even full speed!

I do like the ASRM6 brawler build but it'd play like a faster jumping HBK-4SP which I already have. Its worth a try though.

I've encountered Treb masters out there but I never could get the hang of it. I've gotten the Basics on 3 variants but I didn't really enjoy it. To each their own.

Does BAP actually help with lock on time or is it just to counter ECM?

Both but mostly ECM. Other LRM 'Mechs start lighting them up if they get too close or it enables me to get a lock on my target again if I can nullify ECM.

I always wanted to try out the trebuchets properly, especially the 7M. I had the 5J for a little while but I found having only 1 missile hardpoint a little annoying so I ended up selling it (which I somewhat regret now). Main thing that's keeping me from getting them is the high price.. I want the 3C and 7M but they're both upwards of 7 million c-bills..

Ya the 7M and 3C are the expensive models but on the other hand they cover a good part of the upgrading costs. Not many mechs come stock with DHS or Endosteel but both of these variants come with both.

I also had a 5J that I should never have sold... Someday with extra c-bills it'll find a way back to my mechbay.
