Seems like the best place to put this. Just had an amazing/hilarious match on Caustic Valley Conquest.
Took my Atlas-D-DC out for a stroll, headed for the caldera. Not my best plan.
Using the derrick for cover, I took the point, but with my team busy elsewhere, I was pinned down, slowly losing armour as more agile enemies exploited my position.
Help arrived too late; my right torso was all but gone, and my left heavily damaged. Soon I was completely crippled, with no weapons, no armour, and seemingly no hope. As my allies pushed the enemy back, I did all I could. I crashed into the derrick and powered down; my smoking wreckage holding the point.
And so I waited, as my teammates all perished, one by one. Then, when it was only me, I resigned myself to defeat, watching the enemy mechs as they moved in to take Theta.
For minute, I waited for death, as the vultures circled my mech.
But Death did not come.
In my mangled coffin, I held Theta. Though our losses were tremendous, the enemy was forced to flee from our reinforcements, having been denied their objective.
TL;DR:
If there's a dead, smoking Atlas standing on the cap, and you can't seem to take the point, it's probably because the Atlas is only smoking, and not dead. ;p

screen cap it for proof.
otherwise nice use of feign death.

Well it's a little late for screencaps now, and how would I even prove that? In order to show us winning while I was crippled, I would have had to power up, which would have gotten me killed. (I did actually power up right after the second-last guy died, intent on giving up, but then I realized I was still holding a point and we were ahead, and I shut back down. No one noticed that the dead Atlas had turned about 45 degrees.)
The score screen would show that I was the only one left, and we won by caps, but it doesn't show I feigned death.
Mostly I was too busy laughing as I watched several mech stomping around in confusion.
