God I am so sick of people bashing the seismic sensor and using it as an excuse for poor game play.
Today was a prime example of what I am talking about. I have only one seismic sensor that I usually just move around between my mechs. Well today is the tournament so I found myself rotating between two mechs. Obviously I couldn't dismount my siesmic sensor from the mech locked in a match so I dropped with my other Victor without a seismic sensor and FELT COMPLETELY BLIND.
The point is that having it equipped on your mech is a huge advantage FOR ANY CLASS OF MECH. Instead of whineing about it, learn to use it and IT WILL IMPROVE YOUR MEDIUM MECH GAMEPLAY!!! Instead of running around blind and rushing headlong right into 5 fricken enemy Assaults that will flatten your medium mech in seconds, you can actually see that there are 5 friken enemy mechs just the other side of the hill and make a snap decsion to NOT GO THAT WAY!!!
If you have any brains whatsoever, you can even watch the little blips and realize that they enemies aren't paying attention to you which allows you to guess what.....FRICKEN FLANK THE ENEMY and do it with little risk to your mech.
Grind the XP, spend the 6 Milllion C-bills and mount the darn sensor and quit whineing about it. I will guarentee you that your gameplay will be better with it than it ever could be even if they removed it entirely from the game.
Lastly, remember my little story about feeling blind in the Victor that didn't have the sensor mounted? Well ironically my best game tonight was with that very same Victor. 5 Kills, 2 Assists, 900 damage and match score of 121. What's the point? Simple, seismic isn't an automatic "I win" button. If you pay attention and keep good situational awarness, seismic becomes almost redundant.
