hello everyone, i'm new to this game and i've gathered enough cb so that i can buy every mech i would like except one variant of the atlas and one highlander. I don't really know which one i should choose.

when i was playing with the trial mechs i know i prefer the assault class.

let me tell you my playstyle. i really like firepower, sometimes i'm a bit too aggresive and i find myself alone against five enemy mechs. in that case i'm dead, what i would like is a mech that can handle it in such situation so i can get 1 kill or deal lots of damage. So my death wasn't a complete waste.

which mech would you guys suggest? don't suggest mechs because they are noob friendly, i will learn to use it, the easy or the hard way.

i edited it too make it more readable, less hard on the eyes.

I really, really would suggest adjusting your playstyle to make sure you don't get caught off like that. Remember that assaults are generally the vangaurd of the assault and you need your team with you to support you. As of right now I can only think of the victor as it's the only mech who has enough speed to actually get out of that situation.

If you're getting focus fired by 3+ mechs you'll be dead within seconds no matter what kind of mech you drive (except for Spiders, but they are bugged and will get fixed eventually, heh). Stay with your team and don't charge forward whenever you see an enemy mech.

If you want to get firepower get an assault. Stalker (3F or 5S) or Atlas (DDC, don't forget to buy ECM) are beginner friendly.

If you don't want to go with an assault mech with a huge target painted on it's chest, I suggest a Cataphract. One AC 20 and several medium lasers is plenty of firepower.

Regarding assault mechs, the Stalker or Victor might suit you.

For a new pilot, the Atlas is hard to drive for a while and it always gets focused by enemy players, especially in pugs where your team is usually too stupid to support you.

You don't have to kill to affect the battle. If you deal 500 damage to your enemies before they drop you then your teammates will wipe the floor with them (generally).

Besides, after all the janitors steal your kills after hiding behind your large mech, you get way more currency for the assists...actual kills only affect ones epeen. (and influence victory vs. defeat!)

thank you everybody for replying, i wenth with the stalker 3f. really enjoyed it. i try to be carefull with engaging mechs, because i've learned that with the rotation speed of the 3f a light can kill you if you doon't have support. so thank you for the advice, i will put it in my mind

I recommend using the 3F with either 4 large lasers or 2 large lasers and two PPC's, and Srm's or SSRM's for missiles.

A good way to play is get in a highlander and follow the Atlas or Stalker (Who would do that, right?). Atlas and Stalker both draw more fire than the Highlander. You live longer and can put out some really good damage.

I own all 3 and that method works out really good.

3F with 6 LLs. group left arm, group right arm, group torso. manage carefully and have fun! cant go wrong with a DDC, teammates with love you for your armor value, size, and capabilities too.

Highlander is flexible and has lots of firepower, or a Victor might be able to actually retreat if you're looking for an Assault. Atli and Stalkers are a little harder to start off with if you're still new.
