to repost this from my personal fb page
"It's the latest "beg-all-your-friends-to-join" game from baZynga games!
It's "Ville-ville" or as we like to call it, "D**kville"!
Get all your fb friends that you wouldn't even recognize walking down the street to join!
It's fun! It's addicting! It's perfect for your OCD!
Build the perfect world of castles, high-rises, jungle-camps and inner-city desperation! Collect all kinds of totally worthless bling and bubble-butts to become the Bacon King!
Antagonize strangers!
Annoy your friends!
Back stab casual acquaintances as you rise to the top of the "D**kville" pyramid in your quest for the ultimate pile of poo!!"

I have come to the conclusion that Facebook is filled with nonsensical ravings and brain farts rolled into one.

I hate fb games. Especially when ppl wont stop sending you invites for them.

That about sums it up. BUT as a person who does freelance work, facebook is just one of the many "social media" outlets that I feel I need to belong to. I've actually gotten several jobs through my facebook business page but... yeah. The general postings are pretty dull.

Exactly. I received several this morning alone which caused me to post that response. I did something similar as a No Guts, No Galaxy Podcast Intro and it seems to have been right on the money.

my grand daughter and her children enjoy facebook tremendously and so i have an account there too.
i am amazed at how many people i NEVER wanted to see or hear again have found my account there and seem to "incorrectly" remember me as being a dear friend, a dear friend who just slipped away by accident and would be thrilled to get all chummy with them again.
but i get see see my great grand kids frequently even though they live in a far away place, so i keep it.

I am so glad I don't have a facebook. My friends (goons have friends?!) can call me a "social outcast" all they want, but at least I don't have to put up with all the terrible stuff.

It's true; the biggest enjoyment I get from mine is reading the blotter updates from a local PD that posts pretty regularly, some hilarious stuff on there. Though I admit it's no reason to get one if you don't have it already...

Wellllll.... "putting up with terrible stuff" is all part of life.
And game forums.
And people who take either or both of them too seriously.
