[quote name='"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firearms_%28video_game%29"]The main objective in all maps is to reduce the number of the opponent team's reinforcements to zero. Reinforcements determine the amount of times players on a team can respawn. A team loses reinforcements when killed players respawn. The loss of reinforcements on a team can be stifled by completing map objectives and the direct and indirect actions of medics on the team. As long as a team has more than 0 reinforcements' date=' players can respawn instantly.[/quote'] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firearms_%28video_game%29

OK: So the "instant" part ain't so good, and and the current maps weren't built with spawn-camping in mind, but think about! Capping earns a team more respawns, IIRC, so none of the stratagems are negated. Capping everything also started a new "round," putting everyone back into spawn, too, but it's not relaunching. Figure a team starts with ~36 "lives?"

One of the reasons I've heard for match-maker going Mulligan so quickly is 'cause the game is short: This mode would take much longer to play, so match-maker could be tightened up. But FireArms also let players come and go during maps, so that might be a problem.

FireArms had grenade launcher and mortars(!), which you could fire without a spotter, this sometimes becoming a way to break out of your own spawn if the game was otherwise going badly: We don't have them, but that might be good?

FireArms also had a medic mechanic, and we don't. I could imagine adding a recovery vehicle for downed units, but it seems way too much trouble to implement.

But anyways: MOAR combat!

I'm not sure if they're still working on drop ship mode, but that was intended to be a mode where you pick 4 mechs and you start with one, then respawn in another and keep respawning until you run out of mechs. So It's a mode with limited respawn. Three repsawns would be enough in this game.
