That is a Longbow variant on a 20 ton lighter Chassis. And that many missiles raining is indeed dangerous.

What's more, this past weekend PGI had an Assault tournament, so you saw a whole bunch of big, slow targets that are prime for LRM murder, and subsequently a bunch of people in large, slow, LRM boats taking advantage of that situation. This made things even worse for lighter mechs, as getting caught out became especially punishing.
However, when the tournament influx of Assaults dies down a bit, when people start responding to LRMs by taking AMS in more builds, and when pilots start to learn the maps with the new movement system (and PGI works out some of the buggy terrain interactions), you'll see LRMs stop being dominant and return to a more apparently balanced state.
All in all, they are in decent shape right now. They still preferentially damage center torsos, and having the new SSRM guidance system adapted for LRMs would be great to mitigate this. Aside from CT damage, they're actually in a very good place.

Poll on this. Seems like people are actually receptive to the idea now.

Obviously the missiles were launched sub-700m! They only get to very steep angles of attack at the out edge of their range.
BTW this idea of nerfing LRMs with the Streak hit table is not just bad it borders on dangerously stupid. LRMs are marginally effective weapons in the hands of skilled users who aren't doing something stupid like LRM70 Catapults. LRM70 Catapults have to exchange Armor and Engine for all those missiles. Some of the less stupid configs I come up with have less armor than a 35 ton mech, are as slow as an Atlas or slower, and only have enough ammo to fire Alphas 20 times.
Rather than demanding LRM nerfs now that they are again usable how about people who are tempted to start such threads actually... you know... do smart things like use cover, spend a few moments zoomed out so you can see that missile cloud fired and then understand what that means, mount AMS, hang out with others mounting AMS, hug the ECM Bunny on your team, learn to dodge.
In other words rather than trying to break my marginally useful toys why don't you learn how to use your own?

LRMs are probably the finest-balanced items in the game. They're devastating in the best circumstances, tragically useless in the worst.

exactly why you have such polarised opinions! One player gets up against the skilled player and complains they are OP, another uses them and does stuff all and complains they are NERF.
