Lrm Weird Flight Path?

I see this mostly on tourmaline. LRMs coming down on you or a teammate behind you at a steep angle and aim at a point 20m in front of you. You expect them to hit the ground but then they magically pull up and follow the surface to a point behind you. And then they explode (on a wall or a mech).
I don't have a vid, yet. But this not only looks weird, it means you can't run for cover.

The Launcher lost its lock, but the missiles head for your last spot - its some form of "dodge the hill" part of the missile program i think, as it comes down it adjusts its flight path so it shoots forward instead of hitting the ground.
Odd thing, makes me wonder what kind of thing they did to make that mix up.

not sure if this this 'working as intended' but as I frequently use lrms on my machines, I like it.

Looks like a pathfinding error, they follow the landscape like a tomahawk...

Also try to remember that they stop tracking for the last part of their flight. So they seek a target, seek it, seek it, and then fly staight for the last part.

It still sounds like a relock. I killed scouts from UNDER them with LRM trough relock. When the lock is lost and I regain it after a scout went uphill they swirl around and jam him in the butt from under him. If it were not so erratic I would use it more often. Sometimes relocks are the best locks. But as of late the relock somtimes does not work at all.

It's not a relock thing like you said...its exactly how you describe it in this post. Almost like there's a cushion of air that they hit and it keeps them 20-30 feet off the ground.

Yeah, I've been seeing a lot of this and it is most pronounced on Tourmaline. Whenever you duck behind cover, also take some steps perpendicular to their flight path to avoid the cruise behavior.
It's interesting, but I wonder if it's intentional.

Yea, I've seen it. It's weird. Seen it happen on Caustic too. Instead of splashing down, they skim the ground after coming in over the top of the caldera.

When I see LRMs that are not locked on me coming my direction I now move to the side in anticipatation of them taking a joy ride. I have suffered incidental hit damage from these ground hugging LRMs.
