Iv always played on all low settings

i just thought it was something the fancy pants high settings people enjoyed ;p

there really aren't shadows though?

nope. im floating. makes me feel uncomfortable.

i have GT 640M, my optimal should be low but i play on high anyways. it gets a little laggy, i think my FPS is like around (20)23~28. Drops to 19~14 from time to time but it is still playable for some odd reason o.o; like it's handling like a beast! or kinda yah lol.

Add this to your User.cfg:

e_GsmCastFromTerrain = 1

That will add terrain shadows to the game. It will add quite a bit of processing to the game so be warned.
