This game is my first introduction to the mechwarrior universe. I have been an avid gamer of all types and am curious if the community would enjoy the following two game types or if the lore would even support such a thing.
One: 3 teams of 8, easiest to add to Conquest style matches. PGI has shown 24 players on a map is possible and a direction for the future. With my lack of knowledge of all things mechwarrior, I don't know if there enough faction disputes to support 3+ sidesn the battlespace aside from rare occurances. Lore masters, please chime in. To me, if CW is based on the current faction choices, 3 teams duking it out fits right in.
Two: lone wolf matches. Obviously certain chassis types might stand a better chance, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd love to see a 16 or 24 mech free for all brawl.
Am I completely missing the design that TT players are wanting from PGI or do any of you mechwarriors want to see the chaos unfold?

The problem with a FFA format is, many mechs (AKA Assault mechs and LRM boats like the current trial Catapult) are specifically designed to be vulnerable without support. If a light mech gets inside minimum LRM range on the latter, or gets behind the former, it's almost a guaranteed win (The assault can't bring it's weapons to bear on a fast moving light mech that gets behind it, and the LRM mech can't shoot it's main weapons at all)

Does not mean you cant have FFA, just that you cant take certain mechs. Make it able to be selected separately (dont include it in the "all" setting) and you can bring a suitable mech. I think FFA (especially with respawns) would be pretty good fun actually, though IMO it is a fairly low priority and should only be added as a bit of fun fluff.
