AC/20 is more of a point blank to midrange weapon. If you want to snipe you'll want to go with Gauss Rifles instead.
Something like this Gauss JM6-DD. Double Heatsinks optional and you could drop the Small Lasers as a backup weapon and add another ton of ammo or more armor if you want.
For that AC/20 build you definitely want to move the ammo to your legs and possibly swap the Medium Pulse Lasers for regular Medium Lasers.

May or may not want to move the ammo to the legs. But with an XML engine it might not matter.
I might try that Gauss build since chain firing ac2s faster than .5 sec apart incurs a massive heat penalty. Never knew chain firing ac2s like that was op

Any Jagermech is extremely viable as a sniper build, i should know since i've used them all as such. for the S or DD I recommend using two or three a/c2's on one arm with a gauss rifle or a/c10 on the other arm, and medlasers as backup. Number of a/c2's and gauss versus a/c10 depends on the ammo/weight you have available and what engine you want to use. My personal favorite Jager for sniping is the Firebrand, i use it with two PPC's or ERPPC's and a gauss rifle, just a slightly above average alpha but highly accurate and can be delivered all to one spot, and the two PPC's with DHS can be fired all day long.

I wouldn't quite call that particular build a sniper, but it is an incredibly effective way to build the Jagermech IMO. Here's what I'm doing with mine:

I previously ran Small Lasers, but ditched them because I feel an extra ton of ammo is more applicable in 12v12. I agree with ammo going in the legs first. In my opinion the head is fine for a fifth ton, and the CT is the least bad torso segment you could put the rest in. (LT/RT are too big, and you don't want your ammo going off.) I took armor off the arms because I don't get shot in the arms much and because AC/20s have enough HP that taking some internal hits to the arms isn't the worst thing in the world.

The XL 265 is the same tonnage as the XL 260 except faster.

Sadly the stock JM6-DD came with the 260XL instead of a 265XL, so it's already owned by the OP.

I used this build, not as a sniper. AC20 effective range is same as medium laser. This build is close range shredder. Had fun with it.
If want sniper, u can go with 2 gauss.. or 3 ER ppc, rest of space fill with heat sinks!
