A few minutes ago i was on river city.
A enemy trebuchet was standing afk (or disc) near their base.
I stand 90 degree to him and was shooting with twin erppcs at his legs.
Not moving my aim, after the first leg was gone, the strange thing happen.
Firing on his gone leg, i was sure i would hit the second leg, but no.
His sidetorso were the leg was gone was taking damage.

I though the damage from a gone leg is transfered to the centertorso?
Is this a bug or do the leg damage go to the sides?

Goes from the broken leg to the side torso above it I believe.

well damage transfer is 50% and as far as transfer goes (this is what i THINK happens) you to look at the sections of each mech as sort of verticle blocks. So shooting that leg off removes its hit box(sort of) but now the side torso hit box is in its location. So your hitting the Side torso thru the leg. which doesnt make much sense to me either but ehh whatever once a mechs leg is gone is basically dead to rights anyways so its currently a minor issue im sure.

The legs are attached to the Center Torso on all mechs, NOT to the side torso's.

Thats why asked.
Why are the hitboxes not removed after destroying a part?
I should have hit the other leg.

Damage transfer should go to the centertorso, there is the gyro witch(?) hold the legs.

I believe that is true to how TT worked (not that I think adhering to the old rules is strictly necessary).

Either way, there's a certain amount of abstraction required, and this implementation seems fine enough. It's more important to know how it works than it is to have it work a particular way.

Because even though the leg IS destroyed, it doesn't get blown off like your arms. That means there still is a hunk of metal capable of (partially) blocking shots.

Destroyed Arms are fully removed, exposing the torso of the Mech.

Destroyed Legs leave a crippled, skeletal hitbox behind (essentially the Internal Structure) so that the Mech can still move about, albeit at a crawl-speed.
Further damage to those blackened bones should transfer to the Centre Torso; if it follows TTG rules.

Destroyed Side Torsos leave behind the Internal Structure/Hitbox and again transfers further damage to the Centre Torso.

I was led to believe the Damage Transfer Ratio was 25% but in this thread I've read it's a more reasonable 50% (it was 100% in the TTG!).

TL;DR:

Arms > Sides > Centre
Sides > Centre
Legs > Centre
