I would like to see in-game mission objectives able to be modified due to easily predictable* circumstances.
(*Because for many this is a pickup and play game, lets not make it too complicated.)
For example. Alternate rules for Assault :
The teams are allocated randomly to attacker / defender roles. Only the defender has an active (capturable) base at match start. The attacker's objectives are to kill all enemy - or capture the base - while keeping at least four mechs alive.
The battle plays out as normal, but if the attacker drops below the minimum number then the objectives immediately change. The defender base becomes un-capturable, and the attacker's base suddenly becomes active - as does an exit route from the map near that base.
The attacker's new mission is to exit the map at the proper point, while the defender wins by either killing all, or capturing the base.
The game could possibly still be won by the attackers if they can kill the remaining defenders. Otherwise the most likely outcome is the attackers will die or retreat. The attacker base is there in case a pesky attacker goes shut down in a quiet corner of the map to keep the match alive to the timer.
tl;dr
Objectives could suddenly (but predictably) change as a result of battlefield events.
What do you guys think?
