Me: 6 M-Laser Jenner
Spider: 1 ERPPC
Fight at Epsilon on River City in the Water.
First Encounter in the match for me, didnt fire a single laser so far.
We circle each other for 6-7 minutes and i nearly cored it while getting severe damage myself. Then a Cataphract Shows up and oneshots me. Didnt fire a single laser at him.
Guess what?
I got 197 Damage in that match....only from coring that Spider!
Is that even possible? I got one arm of her, but didnt even touch the legs or the back. Everything else except one sidetorso and Center was still armored but damaged.
So wtf???

Wtf Spider?

The explanation is simple. 80% of all damage done to Spiders is transferred to the nearest Awesome mech's center torso.

Damage gets spread out all over a Spider because it's segments are so small. You were also using lasers which spread it further, and there's not normally much armour on the backs of Spiders.
Does damage to internals also count as damage done? The left arm on the 5D is just a dud, and is normally low or un-armoured, so internals damage counts there too.

Spider armor is somewhere 40 total for arms, 40 total for L/R torso, and probably around 30+ for CT, 18 for head, and 56 for each leg.
Now double that for all the internals too.
There is a problem, but from what I know, it doesn't have to do with 'extra armor' but rather holes.

Spiders have really messes up hitboxes so you could have been hitting all over the mech and been chipping away at all of it.

Did you destroy any items?
If that Spider loaded up on armor for both arms and favored front torso, plus damage to internals, you could have burned through about ~177 points on those alone (if I interpret your description of what you hit on the Spider correctly).
So ~17 to 22 could have come from a few items hit / destroyed, since I assume those are added to Damage done also.
And from my calculations if Internals are really half of the Armor totals, you could in theory, deal 275 damage (including items) to a single Spider before killing it, without having done any damage to its head.
A fully armored Spider can have ~197 to 210 armor and 111 Internal HP, plus any items installed in that tiny frame after all.
