4X: XL225, 10DHS, 5JJ, 1xERPPC, 1xSRM6(1ton), 2xMG(1ton). That's really as much firepower as I could stuff in this slow-arse Light. I'm thinking about using it as a mini-poptart.
3L: XL255, 10DHS, 1xLL, 2xML, 2xSSRM2(2ton). I plan to use it mostly as a moshpit-backstabber, the way I use my ECM Spider. Unlike PPCs, Lasers tend to get ignored during chaotic combat, and ECM definitely helps in that regard. What bothers me is the lack of JJ.
2X: STD245, 10DHS, 4xML/SPL, 1xSRM6(1ton). Probably the only high-power Light that could run a STD engine, though people tend to shoot legs most of times...maybe I should wait for a Hero?
Or should I just go for Jenner?
=====================================================================================
UPDATE: since I already made my decision and bought two of those bad birds already, here's my first impression.
It takes a little more than five seconds for a Raven to lose her legs when she's caught in crossfire. 'Mandos are tiny, Jenners are short and Spiders are exceptionally slim. Yet the Ravens...they walk with their graceful, big-arse legs in slow, long strides instead of rapid steps....
Also, the lack of forearms, although indeed helps centering firepower from arms and torsos, makes Ravens not as good as, say, TDK or Machinegun-Spider in short-range combat.
With that said, the 4X build I posted above performed greatly as I intended, given that I don't fall into my Spider mind-set. It also works surprisingly well in harvesting kills (killstealing huehuehue) - the ERPPC+SRM6 provides probably the best damage-burst a Light can get. *sees a red-CT Atlas* *JJ in* *ALPHAINDEMFACE* *JJ out*
The 3L works vastly differently that what I expected. The lack of JJs is a great drawback, thus it works as a skirmisher (and provides ECM cover) . Only occasionally can you make your way behind some unlucky dude and stab him in the back. With that said, the two SSRM certainly gives any Light a headache Now I see why a certain person has a certain hatred toward 3L.
