Hey do us a favor, find the 3d modeler and smack him on the back of the head for us, then shove your drawings in his face.

What do you listen to when you draw? Please tell me it is the MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries soundtrack, or at least the MechAssault soundtrack.

Nothing but awesome has dripped from the mighty pen of Alex thus far. Have a little faith. Also, the pics you posted aren't very MWO at all, and though some curves would be appreciated, lets wait for the final product before we don our judgement overalls.

I agree, The one thing I have no issue with on this game is the art! Maybe the size of it but the art is great (even without the blur). ;)

I like Alex's better. But, I also don't see too many major differences either. Alex's also looks like something that actually functions in RW.

In the end I think you will be very pleased. I already am.

The 3d modelling is fine. Only thing thats messed up is the scaling.

depends on perspective. but still the 3D models are very inconsistent. some of them look very close to the concept art, Catapult, while others look wildly different stalker.

its my opinion that the ones that look closer to the concept art look better.

i mean they spend all this time deliberating the concept art, why go and deviate from that in the 3D version usually the proportions are a little worse.

I'm pretty sure that's a mechanics issue (I.E. hitbox and movement).

Maybe it's just me but i like the idea of a Recessed cockpit.

In the original TRO artwork the cockpit is almost in the middle of the mech.

Alex does great stuff but with out the lower cockpit something just feels off.

No doube he's probably done and done by now but a Crude Example.

Spaghetti mech in a dress with boombox and holding a lunchbox...
I can almost hear MC Hammer playing the background.

It would be interesting Devs, if you could program a way for certain weapons like the Wolverine's HD mounted laser to be put on a swivel and have an arc of fire in front of the Mech. It might be possible if its tied to the arm crosshair or something. Just a thought.

That way you can put a ball turret laser in that spot :) Would that not be super cool?

Ball/pintle turrets in BTech are Torso-Mounted weapons with exactly the same fire arcs as "deep set" ones. It's just a different method of gimballing/converging them.

Actually that is just an armor plate. The cockpit is still above the ball, just has the shutter look like Loose used on the Hunchback cockpit.

What do you guys think if the Wolverine replaces the Flea in the current release lineup?

If the engine update fails to go through, the Wolverine is actually the perfect platform to debut MASC (there are some variants that include it). I'm not trying to get anyone's hopes up (most likely, it would debut next year, probably in March 2014 from projections), but I'm thinking this is being considered for the "in case of emergency" scenario.
