Sorry, I was never a TT player. Not my thing.
I find it odd that lasers go from .5-1-2-5-7 tons. Is there nothing in the 3-4ton range? Seems like a waste.

I don't believe that "Intermediate Laser" is actually BattleTech canon, but it's up to PGI to decide how original they want to go with the game.

Its based on the idea that as a laser becomes larger the equipment to make it work becomes exponentially more bulky. This a real world issue today with directed energy weapon systems. the weight gains aren't exponential, but aren't strictly linear either.

The Heavy Large Laser is 4 tons. So you'll have to wait. Heavy Lasers are awesome to use in MW:LL.
