*when you load into a match and the other team is full off the bat and it takes a long time to fill your team (if it fills). Most likely you have one or 2 guys with high ELO and the rest new players. Prepair for a lolerstomp.

Intellectually I realize the importance of capping, and as a light pilot I realize it's my job. What I resent is the reward mechanics not reflecting this importance. For this important action, what do I get?

If I cap any number of bases and we still lose: NOTHING.
If I cap 1 base and we win because of it: 1 cap award.
If I cap 5 bases and we win because of it: 1 cap award.

Now compare this to brawling:

If I get 2 kills and we lose: 2 kill awards.
If I get 5 kills and we lose: 5 kill awards.
If I get 2 kills and we win: 2 kill awards.
If I get 5 kills and we win: 5 kill awards.

So I get fewer rewards for doing my job as a light (capping, scouting) than I do as a heavy/assault (killing).

I heard that, in conquest altleast, your team does get more cbills if you lose 650-750 than if you lose 200-750... is this true?

Someone who knows more than me will have to answer that one. But I think your teams gets a reward based on the resources collected.

You DO get more for more resources.... but when my computer still worked it still wasn't enough for most people to care (my gaming computer's been dead for months)
Used to get yelled at constantly for even bothering to cap (still did it, cause.. well... is that not the point of the mode?)

Edit: Have not seen anything in the patch notes about those numbers changing either.

On the yelling thought, team used to yell at me even when we won cause of my capping - more than 9 outa 10 times. (only had 3 where they did not that I remember, but those were way more mature than average players and it well showed)

Yes, losing conquest still grants you resource rewards at the end.

And to the other guy's post "why do my job".. because you get 200 more xp for winning, and you get salvage bonus for winning that you don't get if you lose. So, while you might get better rewards for "kills" win or lose, you do better overall with a win. Not to mention, lights don't often get all that many kills because they just don't have the fire power. You have to sit and wait and take kills from other people, or backshot people.. even then, the real xp/cbill boost comes from damage and being engaged (you participate in "savior kill" even if you don't make the kill, but were shooting the mech that got killed that had the savior tag on it).

While I agree with the frustration, I still "do my job" in my lights because.. well.. that "job" is how you win or lose. And watching a light fight 3 enemies while a heavy stomps around trying to cap is VERY frustrating in spectator mode :)
