Though if you want a true representative sampling, you should invite some of those ppl who seem to defend PGI at every turn.
Well maybe not; they dont seem to want to save the game

It was an open invitation, and having both sides of an argument is always useful. For whatever reason people on the other side of the argument didn't want to come and speak, it seems.

Wow. I don't even remember writing that last night...

Saying it was an open invitation and it actually feeling like an open invitation are two different things. The largest faction in House Liao (also the host of the shindig) isn't known for their cordial nature. So I can't blame anyone with dissenting ideas to avoid it like the plague.

Think Salem Witch trials but with a Gauss and 2 PPC's.

If the next one happens at a time that I can make I will be there though.

Even metro the person behind houseliao.com has shown his support for the town hall. And if you know where our relations stand with him... you might want to concede that this town is less than one-sided.

Yeah look what happens if you disagree in this thread, but I'm sure they're open to other views, as long as those are views they share. ;)

I see your point - I would suggest that you listen to how the recording went down if you want further evidence of how cordial it was. Though honestly, what would have been the point of getting so many people together if not to have a useful discussion? It's not like we could have pulled a Red Wedding once we had everyone in mumble or anything.

I made it a point to invite people who were opposed to the proposals being made, since surely they have a reason to think everything's fine. None really showed up, and they hide behind claims they weren't invited even though they often were explicitly invited.

Hey, Notch, turn up to the next meeting and express a view. More than one view if you have more than one. I'm not confident that you do have more than one, if this thread is anything to go by. Is this how you go on in your day to day life? I imagine you go shopping for groceries and when asked for your method of payment you scream into the cashier's face that THERES NO POINT, and when asked to leave by security you roll your eyes and say how typical it is that no one wants to hear your truth.

For the millionth time, if you have useful commentary to offer then go ahead. If all you're going to do is say that everything is pointless and that no one wants to hear opposing views then toddle off, stick a bucket on your head and bask in the glory of how right you are about everything.

Yeah I didnt seem to hear any of those names Ive started seeing here that are defending PGI no matter what...
Kinda makes me wonder if we'd recognize their voices as devs lol

I know there were certainly people with opposing opinions listening in, but they didn't speak.

I have never said these things don't need fixing. I have simply disagreed with how you're going about it, and been snarky. So again good way to show you welcome "ALL" views.

Ok, so in your view, what do you think would be productive?

But seriously; if Word of Lowtax are seen with negative press around here, get someone else to host it. It cant but help to look impartial for ppl who may be on the fense, may get you more sigs than you would have otherwise

That was one of the things we talked about when planning this in the first place.

But who? This wasn't a trivial undertaking, and was only able to happen because we already had a significant infrastructure in place, as well as Solodrakban's experience herding many more cats. Who else is willing and able to host this?

I am cordially requesting that discussion in this thread not be focused on discussing particular members who are/aren't posting in this thread. Our good friend, the Code, would like you to please focus on the game and the townhall meeting, but not post about how someone in this thread is personally this-and-that. Thaaaanks! ;)

I leave you to your PGI sponsored echo chamber, just remember when they say ALL views are welcome, how they "cleaned up" this thread to sweep away dissent. Just like PGI. But seriously show up and maybe they won't edit you out if you aren't in lock step with the folks who are running it. Wonder why some people might be thinking that the people behind this don't have the community at large's best interests at heart. Funny how censorship by PGI is normally booed, but when PGI censors stuff you disagree with it's awesome!
This is 100% related to the validity of dissenting views being welcome at this town hall, but I doubt it will remain.

To get this thread back on topic: you've posted before that you don't think the town hall was productive, citing only the fact that "nothing will change probably." Do you have any ideas for things that might be more successful, or any real constructive criticism?

I'm not repeating my constructive criticism that will just be reported if it's not what folks want to hear. How about this, answer me how this town hall has accomplished anything to change the game?
If you're going to say that Garth thanked you for doing his job and making these complaints in a polite manner is something it's pointless to discuss. He has posted in numerous threads that he "forwards" all our feedback up the chain. Well I ask how's that worked out so far?
No one ever addresses why this time it will be different? PGI has given no indication that it considers these complaints as issues. The only official response is removing dissenting views and trying to make this look like it's all hunky dory while PGI keeps on with it's plans undetered by any feed back to the contrary.
If anyone is carrying PGI's water it's this movement. It's the perfect distraction for vocal fans in this out of the way forum where PGI can tell you thanks for being nice while we ignore you.
Plus I did reccommend action, but real action, demand your PP refunds, don't post in a poll where you say you "intend" to ask for one or "plan" to buy a pack. That's just posing and PGI knows it that's why they "alllowed" it. Money is what matters, but real money, not potential money. Lots of people want to talk a big game and hope other folks ask for refunds while they just keep playing and paying. So there's ideas, really stop playing and paying and not the empty talk. PGI keeps calling your bluffs by ignoring feedback and people keep playing, paying and pre ordering. Why would they change course? They have the real numbers not the posturing.
Also don't put forth that the "competitive" community is some how some super special part of the community that needs to be catered to. Whether that's the intent of the letter or not , some people read it that way. Don't have goons running it, again whether they like it or not they have certainly worked to have a negative profile in many games.
Accept that some people, may actually have different ideas or not agree and not be trolls, PGI yes men, morons etc. That goes a long way towards appearing inviting to other views.
But what do I know I'm a moron troll who's a PGI Yes Man.
Ok Iied I did provide ideas.... boo me. ;)

Darkness and I can't find where to sign the partition on behalf of our unit. If it's manually added in, again you can confirm 20 members for the Stalkers of the Night want something done, and not half a$$3d either.

To my knowledge no, if there was one I was unaware of it, but I am also having problems viewing my PMs on these forums at the moment. If I remember correctly the next scheduled meeting will be Mecha Lingua this coming Tuesday. I believe we are slated to talk about new user experience. If someone else has the date and time handy and can post it that would be great.

With that said, for all of you Mecha Lingua enthusiast, I have been spending some time on my unit forums theory crafting and collecting ideas for Mecha Lingua. Most of it is incoherent notes to myself, but currently I am focusing on weapon balance ideas to be presented. I noticed some inconsistencies in the translation of TT numbers to MWO, and am trying to work out possible solutions.

I need some help. I do believe that no one person can balance a game, because I believe that people have a natural tendency to not find flaws in their own work. This is where you guys come in, I have posted my ideas on our open forum so anyone should be able to read. If you wish to participate in my theory crafting feel free to make an enjin account and post or PM me here at the mwomercs.com forums with your ideas. If for some reason you cannot read or post on my thread feel free to PM me so that I can correct the problem.

Please leave any discussion related to my thread OUT OF THIS THREAD. This thread does not need to be filled with random balance ideas that have not been presented to the Town Hall/Mecha Lingua already.

Thanks again guys, looking forward to the next meeting.

Edit:
First, you must register with us here

After you have done so, you can go here to add your contributions for future Mecha Lingua live discussions. Feel free to create or comment on any threads posted, but please do keep it civil and on topic. If you wish to cross post something from the MWO forums, or other sources, please do, but make sure you have permission from the original poster and please provide a link to the original source.
