Whenever I run my Jm6-DD, I tend to stick by my lance and focus on their targets with the quad ultra5 and two small lasers load. It is probably one of my most fun to play while having the ultra5s split two to right and two to left click then dual trigger them with small lasers as scroll wheel click.

Jägers can't really protect themselves by twisting, it just makes it even easier to hit whichever side they show, they're also not nearly as fast as say a Dragon or Quickdraw.
The jäger can retreat behind cover, but the atlas will probably just follow him.

I view it as someone who's realized they're boned, and is desperately trying to win, I've done the same thing in my mediums sometimes when faced with a heavy.

Or like an LRM boat firing at a distant target while that Jenner is chewing him up from 12m away...just gotta get that one last kill...
